Y'all are nuts. White Castles are divine. Get the Deep Sea sandwich. They don't call it fish, it just comes from the deep sea, where all the good stuff is.
I've never lived in a place that's had good stadium food. I understand they do exist, but to me the concept is unfathomable. Stadium food sucks is and horribly overpriced. Period. Papa Johns and WC are really just a continuation of that trend (though perhaps, on a 'sliding' scale, WC might be trading already marginal quality for lower prices). Maybe it'll change someday, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd love for the Crew to, say, have a food truck night, and invite in a shitload of local food trucks to feed the masses. But I know the real world (governed by pesky contractual agreements over these kinds of issues) doesn't work that way. So shitty overpriced food it is, then. I'm far more interested in stadium beer selection, to be honest. Though even there, the pricing is so insane that normally I just do my drinking pre-match.
As much as I hate Sh!tcago, that stadium has pretty good stadium food. Ugh. Still a ****hole place, though.
I didn;t even realize people bought food from the stadium. I don;t think I ever have besides maybe buck a brat night 5 seasons ago.
I'm all for White Castle. Not because it's fantastic food. But it is OK drunk fare, and it's pretty cheap (though likely not so at the stadium). Still, it's local. On the other end, we have Papa John's. The pizza is bad. It's not local. And the CEO is an incredible prick. Rest assured, I'll let the Crew know about it.
I actually like Papa John's Pizza. Not sure it will translate to stadium food as well as Donato's did, however.
can people not manage 2 hours without eating? I mean seriously if the level of expectation of "stadium food" is so low, eat before you come, or afterwards.
no, just come over to section 134 and I believe there is an entrance to it from the Nordecke (but not sure) and tell the usher you're wanting to go to the stage. It's great for the draft beer and grilled food...
Haha I mistook your honesty for sarcasm. Can you imagine watching the Crew beat shitcago WHILE drinking a frosty??
Stick with the grill areas (on either side near the stairs a few sections in from the south end), and they're usually decent.
Not just where you are. McDonalds seems to have taken a quality dive over the last 5 years or so. Wendy's is about the only fast food burger I like anymore. It's really too bad we don't have Whataburger around here so I could get some variety when i need a drive thru.
No, we get the ads for Hardees and Carl Jrs so they might be nearby. On buck a brat nights, the team sells so many they just steam them with maybe a few seconds on the grill to add some marks. It's the worst night to judge brats. Stadiums always have overpriced food but sometimes the food isn't bad. Didn't the Crew have food trucks in for Hispanic heritage night? Couldn't they do that more often? What happens if a licensed food truck buys a parking spot outside the stadium? Any legal issues selling food? Offhand I would guess that the Columbus permit is good on expo center grounds.
I think there are some just outside the metro columbus area. Years ago I heard that Hardees bough Rax hoping to make inroads into this market, which is dominated by Wendy's, apparently it didn't do them any good, and they ran Rax into the ground (Rax was much better than Arby's). Not sure about food trucks, but they have had a Michoacana taco stand on the plaza before.
