    Home.

This has been a craptastic day. Two fights and every student seemed on crack cocaine.

This sounds like a very reasonable request from a very reasonable man. Let's make it happen!

But if they stay in A and are terrible, it accomplishes two things: We dont have to worry about them ever winning anything, and we can still point them out to future generations as an example of all that is terrible and wrong in the world.

Born and raised Edmontonian. I would say the Oil are my number 2 team, it is hard to live in this city and not follow them. That said I have been a life long Bruins fan, partially because they are my Dad's team from the O6 days and partially because my favourite player growing up was Ray Bourque and favourite goalie was Andy Moog.

I can't comment on minor league hockey since we don't really have a tonne of that around here, but in my mind junior hockey is the best around. The kids are still playing because they love the game and have something to prove, so it doesn't matter if it is the final game or some nothing game in December that they are losing 8-0 you can see the effort they are putting in. All too often the pros seem to lose that ability.

Gorgeous day at Six Flags with the girlfriend today. Short lines, so we rode our rides, took it easy, and headed home early.

That's how you roll when you have season tickets.

Thanks Peth. I like working with people who seek my advice, listen to it and act on it. I like being praised for being awesome. One day the money will come, but then we'll have to move to Nashville.

We had a tournament today, we had our first team and a reserves team. Well most of a reserve team. Starters got to the final. Reserves lost on PK's in semi. We had no subs for either team, and that hurt a lot.

Anyway, I left because I promised to take Monkey to get Mexican food tonight.

So, here was how I ended up playing the Kentucky Derby:

$2 Win bets on Trinniberg, Alpha, Went the Day Well, and El Padrino.

    A $1 Superfecta with Bodemeister/Union Rags/Take Charge Indy/Alpha.

From there, my key was Bodemeister. I decided to trust what I had seen 3 weeks ago in the Arkansas Derby, and play him as the best horse, even with a limited budget.

So, I put $5 to win on Bodemeister, and I played two $1 exacta tickets:

Bodemeister 1st, with Union Rags/Gemologist/Alpha/I'll Have Another/Take Charge Indy/Daddy Nose Best.

The other ticket was the reverse, with those same 6 horses on top, and Bodemeister second.

Bodemeister ran as good a race as you'll see for as long as he could, and thankfully held off Dullahan for second. 15-1 I'll Have Another won, keying a $153.30 exacta payoff.

Interestingly enough, Bode losing was actually better for me. The projected exacta payout to Bodemeister over I'll Have Another was about $98. At 4-1, the payback would have been ~$25 for the win bet.

So Bode finishing second actually paid more.

First Derby cash in five years. I'll take it. When you are playing minimum-amount wagers for the most part, a three-digit payout is huge toward the bottom line at the end of the year.

Congrats Man City. May "Blue Moon" be sung in the native tongue of your owners.

That line is so good I'm going to have to use it on Facebook.
