His father wanted papers for all his family to get them to the university, so he married a cuban girl. But they caught him on the interview, it was almost done.

My friend right now is staying at my place so they don't find him at his house, prolly would deport him too. Sometimes america is a shi.tty place to be in.

    Damn.

They caught them lying or what? I've heard of horror stories like that where the interviewer asks aggressive questions and gets people flustered.

basically they had a guy following them around taking pictures of the to see if it was a fake marriage or not, they do this all the time. They got caught since he was living with his family + her , which was suspicious. Immigration showed the pictures to her, threatened to take her to jail if she didn't admit it was a fake, she signed a paper accepting it. Now they are gonna deport him back to Peru.

    Not around these parts!

Which is good because I know lots, LOTS of people who have done the fake marriage thing and no one's had some fukin detective following them around taking pictures of them.

That's some FBI shit. Maybe one of the two guys was into some other shady dealings. Doesn't make a lot of sense to use so many resources to deport some Joe Schmo.

Dunno, I consulted an attorney and they do this, but not all the time, Just in cases were it seems suspicious at the beggining and i guess they smelled something going on at the beggining.

Sorry to hear, dude: best of luck to your friend.

If he's deported, how long does he have to wait to try to come back into the country legally? Isn't it like 10 years or something??
