1. Danny Cruz No offence to you personally Danny, I mean you always seem to put a shift in.........the problem is its just not up to standard......we are trying to make the playoffs and possibly push for a cup. It's not your fault Johnny babe starts you in place of more deserving players.........but in my opinion you are hurting our progression and another players development. And if Hackworth continues insisting you being on the field then he will make the list of another who is substandard and needs to leave the club.
Fill in as you see fit......personally I don't even care if its Union players, could be Philly players in general...... I finished watching the replay of the Orlando game and was mystified the Cruz is our starting RW......had to vent !! Apologies for the negative thread but I see a pet being played here not on merit......Cruz is a depth player at best..... also whoever wore #16 .....he didn't make one positive play the whole 2nd half.....
I didn't see the starting XI as our best players, and feel like some of the guys in the "second" squad could/should get the start. Again, we can't really take a whole lot from this game, as the technical staff surely is experimenting and tweaking things. Wasn't #16 Shaun Francis?
Our all time worst XI... SeitzMyrie - Stahl - Thomas - Arrieta - LopezMiglioranziNakazawa -ZimmermanHerdlingPerlazaI went with a 5-man backline because of all of the heartache of our first playoff game.Seriously, look at that lineup. Those guys actually played for the Union. Ugh.
I didn't include him because I thought those three were worse than him. For as much flak as Gonzalez caught, I thought when he actually played, he wasn't bad. I still remember the golf ball-seized knot on his bald head from when he banged it going for a header. I actually believe he was the first victim of the bung scam that Nowak was into.
Yeah...I'm not taking much from the game but watching Cruz give up possession with horrible passes and technical skills while someone on the bench is missing those minutes is killing me.... Watch the game again and focus soley on #16....... If that's a good game then Bob's your uncle.
He had some good moments and some bad moments in the OC game, others in the game thread also seemed to like his play but after watching the game my reaction was lukewarm. He could become an option down the road if he improves steadily.
I understand why most of those guys were on the team. Even if they didn't pan out. But the Herdling addition will always mystify me.
The Union's somewhat private relationship with Hoffenheim would be where he showed up from. He had some good ideas (at least I could see what his intent was in distribution) but it just didn't mesh with the players we had. No Perlaza on that list? No Porfi on that list?
I know where he came from, and the Union's relationship with Hoffenheim. It just seemed like such a random use of an international slot.
