I kinda hope Le Toux gets some time as a striker soon. The offense up top is super thin and he isn't needed in the midfield. What do we have to lose at this point?

When he grabbed his knee I thought that was the end of his career.

    Our best XI.............is an oxymoron.

    Things I think I think:

    G: McMath / Blake / Holt. = solid.

CB: White/Berry/Marquez (maybe) = mystery meat

Quality proven CB = he's in Argentina

RB: Williams / Gaddis = adequate defensively on the right side
Attacking RB = Yeti/ Loch Ness Monster.

    LB: none
    Attacking LB = none
LWB: Alves once in a blue moon.

    LM/LW = Wenger (* possibly)
    RM/RW/ Right Yellow =Cruz

F: LeToux/Hoppinot/Wheeler/Casey = Jack Shit. *Update: Mwanga may have made himself available after today's post-game..........should inquire..........

    Ready?

    CM: Carroll/Edu/Nogueira/Okugo/Fernandes/Maidana/Ribeiro/Lahoud/Fred/Pfeffer= excessive.

Friend of Coach : Bone= pointless

    Folks:
This is what I mean when I tell ya dat disOrganization is fruit loops.

Le Toux has shown in the past that he's more effective centrally than out wide. The Union need to attack the penalty area in greater numbers and Le Toux playing alongside Wenger does not sound like a bad option given the current roster.

I would be ok with this, except that Le Toux is not playing RW because it is his best position but because he is the only option except play Cruz.

Therefore they need a different formation. Hackworth should be choosing a formation that maximizes the players he has. There are other ways to deploy their midfielders and forwards which can eliminate the "RW" dilemma.

With these outside backs and lack of pace in the upper flanks.........what would that be?

Been looking at this for awhile........just wish we had better players up top. Wenger to LM, Nogs for Carroll and a real RW. Seattle's been using Cooper out of position quite a bit. Imagine a healthy #33 holding it up, instead of a broken #6. We'd be Doopin' with "the Coop" in........................

Problem is that, although he is of large stature, the Coop doesn't play like a target, hold-up forward.

I agree, he drifts around the pitch a lot--sometimes to the frustration of fans who want to see him wander less.

Given how much he's bounced around, doesn't seem like any team really knows how to play Cooper.

4 teams in 4 seasons since returning to MLS ... with 2012 and the Red Bulls being his best of them to-date.

When you look at the roster you have to think that the FO is at least as accountable as the coach for the situation the Union is in. I don't like a lot of Hackworth decision, but I have to admit his job is not easy (even if some of his mistakes are the reason for it).

-Okugo should have been put at CB only temporary, he is obviously better at CDM. By considering him as a CB, the FO and the coach made a big mistake and let our vocal defensive leader go (Parke). Even if we got Edu in that trade, it was a mistake (if you consider Okugo a CDM, Edu is not a necessary piece). They should have put the effort (Edu's salary I mean) on other positions: CB, LB, striker.

-Not sure how much Maidana is paid, but I think the scouts didn't paid much attention. He is obviously very talented, but it looks like he does not fill the need the team had (in my opinion). Looks like they recruited him on video (I would not be surprised, he is the archetype of an "highlight" player). We needed a left footed guy to play LW, but now we learn that he plays better on the right flank. He has not a lot of discipline, plays wherever he wants, doesn't play much D, and has trouble adjusting to the new culture (like every south americans; also his curriculum was not a good indication on that regard). Not sold on him yet, he can turn the table of course, but I don't think he has the mental toughness to do so. IMO a talented player, but a bad cast. Especially as a DP, where the scouts should be certain of the guy the team needs.

    I would play this team:

    ----------------------Le Toux-------Wenger------------------
    ---------------------(Hoppenot)-----(Casey)-------------------

    Maidana-----------Okugo----------Nogueira----------Cruz
    (Fernandes)-------(Carroll)---------(Pfeffer)----(McLaughlin)

    Fabinho----------Williams----------Berry-----------Gaddis
    ---(?)----------------(White)----------(Wheeler)------(Lahoud)

    ------------------------------McMath---------------------------
    -------------------------------(Blake)----------------------------

Would need a better LB (Fabinho being ok as a sub for both LB a LM), a LCB, and a striker (using Edu's salary, or Nogueira's one if the poor guy wants out).
