They can probably buff him up within 4-5 months in the weight room with Olympic lifts, etc. I guess if they're willing to let him sit out on the bench for that long, it's probably okay. But if he's going to be thrust into the linup, he'll fail.

Explosiveness is actually a very interesting topic. Without getting too technical it's determined at birth by the ratio of fast twitch and slow twitch fibers in your muscles. It can be improved, but obviously the greater the ratio of fast twitch fibers the higher your potential for explosive speed will be.

You're right, and this applies to West Africans in particular.

Who said Neymar is going to Bayern? I don't think it's a done deal.

A lot of the media seems to be under that impression.

Neymar strikes me as the kind of player who will make it or fail based on his own internal desire to win and overcome adversity.

Robinho and Ronaldinho are players who failed because they didn't want to fight. A player like Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi is a killer. They fight every day in training and off the field to be better and better.

Ronaldinho failed? I think he's had a pretty good career.

Ronaldhinho might have been the most talented football player to ever roam this planet. He did things with the ball at full speed that people couldn't even imagine in their dreams. The sad part is he essentially had two full peak seasons between 2005 and 2007 before his drinking and preference for cheap hookers brought him down to essentially an above average player.

Here is the line for Ronaldinho in game played and goals

    Gremio
    48 -8
    48-23
    49 - 41

    PSG

    48-13
    38-12

    Barcelona

    45-22
    42-13
    45-26
    49-24
    33-9

    Milan

    43-11
    57-17
    16-1

    Compared to Ronaldo

    Sporting

    31-5

    ManU

    40-6
    50-9
    47-12
    53-23
    49-42
    53-26

    Real

    35-33
    54-53
    55-60
    54-54

Well, goals is just one metric.....I'd be curious to see assists as well. Either way, while you may be right about him not utilizing his talent fully, "fail" is not a word I would use. Perhaps underachieve.

Ronaldo is a freaking machine. The guy may be an undercover gay, but his work ethic and his desire to improve is unbelievable. You gotta respect someone like that. It takes a ton of mental toughness to maintain that level of performance year in and year out. Unreal.

    Ferguson taught him well.

He won what, two FWPOY awards while at Barca? He was FAR FAR FAR from a failure.

If he didn't fix his buck teeth after this career, then you could consider his career a failure...

Since Davey Beckham folded his career today, and I guess since he probably didn't reach Ronaldo or Messi in performance he must of underachieved somewhere...

Oh, yeah. He underachieved with his underware.

    Any udder underachievers out there?
