I think it's any soccer player who'd whack someone in the balls is lame and deserves the thumbs down.

Thumbs up/thumbs down, you can argue for both. I didn't know what it was -- I thought it was an emoticon for a head scratch.

Incredibly stupid for even the great Deuce to think he can get away with that.

Exactly and he deserves a 3 match ban for that but I'll take 2 if that is what the DisCo says.

    Falvo,
Is this thread for repeating news links? I thought it was more for discussion.

Just watched the NE - VAN game. NE has a lot of very young players and they are very good at building up a quick attack and getting it into the box on the ground. Another season or two under Heaps and his system and they are going to be a powerhouse.

Also, I hope Tommy Thompson is at least as good as Fagundez has turned out.

The result doesn't hurt us as much as it could have. :)

watching Chicago's home opener…a lot of empty seats at toyota park…I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the cold weather.

And is it possible for Mike Magee to go 10 seconds with out complaining about something…..?

He needs to start a "Soccer America News Link Reposting" thread for this stuff and then it can be ignored just like the "Bay Area Local Sports Discussion" thread, A.K.A. "... Jibberish ..."

I don't know if anybody else caught the Montreal/Philadelphia game, but my word, Justin Mapp played one of the most beautiful balls to Di Vaio I've seen in a very long time.

Mapp has been doing that for a long time. He's one of those guys I wish was a 'Quake... Like Steve Ralston or Davey Arnaud... Guys who Shea could be like if he had them around... All three of those guys are a big step above Ian Russel (Sorry, rambling thought carried over from the Shea thread)

Justin Mapp should be in Brad Davis's shoes instead of Brad Davis for USMNT implications

I'd take Davis just for his free kick specialties otherwise I agree, Mapp is more solid.

Wild game. Seattle really came alive about the 78th minute. Hardly knew Dempsey was on the field until he scored his 1st goal.
Why don't the Quakes look for for players in Argentina???

It's really frustrating, I think Doyle and our scouts get told about players and then look at them. They fon't actively seek players. I don't think Doyle knows where Argentina is.

I don't think we actually have scouts. I've heard of agents contacting us and pitching players to us. I've heard that we subscribe to a service that alerts us to players looking for a gig and provides video of those players. I've heard of current and former players suggesting potential signings to us. I've not heard of us actually hiring scouts.
