3 of my really good friends are Hearts supporters so I was rooting for them now that Rangers are gone and they've cocked it up.

    This will be cool
Basically is a ripoff of the nextgen series, but I think it will grow more since UEFA are behind it. I wonder how qualification will work?

Thought I posted here recently but can't find it.

Tough times for Hearts fans, recently brought the club from the brink of extinction but those problems will arise again in the near future. They needed £400,000 two weeks ago to keep the club afloat two. Rangers owe them £700,000 in outstanding player transfers but the new owner of Rangers, Charles Green, tried to cut a deal with Hearts saying he will give them the £400,000 they needed and that will dissolve any other payments Rangers owe them, Rangers trying to take advantage of someone else's dire situation to their own profit. Hearts to their credit though refused and the fans dug deep and saved them. The owner of Hearts, Vladimir Romanov, is a very erratic character. Not a man I'd like to give my money to.

Outside of Celtic the SPL is very evenly balanced so no team has the quality to step up and put a run together and challenge Celtc over the course of a season just now. You will begin to see Celtic pull away now that the distraction of buzz of European games no longer interfrere for a while now. Watching it domestically this season has been even more mundane than usual. Talk of restrucuturing the league and I hope they do it. The current fixture schedule is very tedious and it gets boring playing teams 4 times a season.

Just watched a cracking Turkish game there. Besiktas 2-0 up, cruising and pushing for a third with 5 mins to go. They then implode Roma style and the game finishes 2-2 with a last minute goal.

I think you have to qualify for the CL to be involved.

Which to me is strange because a lot of the teams in the CL don't have the best youth sides. With the NextGen at least because it was focused on youth they were trying to add the best youth sides possible, not the ones who qualified for the CL. If UEFA want to get involved they should be partnering with the NextGen Series and improving the competition on the basis of who has the best youth set up based on objective measurements like the new English U21 league. To qualify for the top class "elite" development league you have to invest a certain amount, keep a certain amount of coaches, have proper facilities, etc.

Look at the clubs in the NextGen series this season. Many of those clubs have very good youth sides and wouldn't be involved in the new system. Aston Villa or PSV for example.

    Ajax
    Anderlecht
    Arsenal
    Aston Villa
    Athletic Bilbao
    Barcelona
    Borussia Dortmund
    Celtic
    Chelsea
    CSKA Moscow
    Fenerbahçe
    Inter Milan
    Juventus
    Liverpool
    Manchester City
    Marseille
    Molde FK
    Olympiacos
    Paris Saint-Germain
    PSV Eindhoven
    Rosenborg
    Sporting Clube de Portugal
    Tottenham Hotspur
    Wolfsburg

Or Liverpool come to think of it.

The first team is suffering but they've invested a lot of money in youth development.

Wonder if Antonio Conte's return will hurt or help them? On second thought, it probably won't change anything...

What amazes is how much he plays Balotelli, despite he does jack... and Benches Dzeko.

City need a clear out. Huge money wages wasted on players such as Nasri, Tevez and Balotelli.

So utterly disgusting how the media has been going on about Conte this weekend. You would think he was returning victorious after winning a battle against cancer and not coming back after a ban for failing to report match fixing.

Hope Miccoli can do the scum today. Player who's career (much like Zeman's) was destroyed by the Moggi system. He could have been a huge star.
