I always thought Mancini was overrated. Got lucky with the calciopoli, and having ibra on his team. His european records speak for itself. Heck,Spalletti with roma did more in europe then mancini with inter. And Spalletti at zenit did more at europe then mancini did with city! City haven't spent wisely though. How many world class players do they have? Too many players have faded terribly in the second half of the season - Aguero, Silva, Dzeko, Milner, Richards just to name a few. The only players who have been world class throughout the enitre season for them in my opinion have been Hart and Kompany. The rest come and go as they please. Silva looks a shadow of the player he was pre-November. Should've never let Tevez back onto the scene.
Seriously I've been making this case to think English football fans all week. So overrated as a manager. Not that he hasn't done anything but has any manager been more blessed then Mancini, and for what? Capello, Ancelotti or Mourinho would have won a couple titles with Citeh with the investment the owners have made.
I think some of that is his fault. It's his job to motivate his players who clearly have the ability but are under-performing, in particular Silva. The two players you highlighted for being class are from the outside looking in are the two mentally toughest players on the team. I think they keep themselves motivated and focused.
