Is anyone else curious about who has trained with the Revs this season. So far, there's been Gale Agbossoumonde, Tony Taylor, Ramak Niakan Safi, Ernesto?, Khano Smith, Bobby Shuttleworth, Daniel Owusu, Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, Scott Caldwell, anyone else.

[I guess this isn't really Other Team's News but I don't think it's worthy of it's own thread]

Report: Osorio and Agoos to be let go after season

The New York Red Bulls' nightmare season is apparently going to lead to some people losing their jobs, but not as quickly as some might have imagined.

Stefon Bondy of The Bergen Record (NJ) is reporting that the Red Bulls have already made the decisionto not retain either head coach Juan Carlos Osorio or technical director Jeff Agoos, and the club is already looking for replacements for both.

“They know it’s important to make this move, but they know the problem isn’t just about one or two people,” a source told the Record. “With the new stadium opening, the team is approaching one of the most critical points in its history."

The story also goes on to suggest that neither Osorio or Agoos is likely to be let go until after the season.

I'd probably think this thread would work.

Agreed, its totally violates MLS rules to sign players this late in the season let alone a DP. Houston will get fined for this for sure! ;)

I watched the end of the Galaxy/Fire game last night. Fire forward and Galaxy keeper go up for a 50/50 ball and clash heads, the striker's forehead against the back of the keeper's head. This was right in front of section 8. As the keeper was stretchered off, the Fire fans booed him.

When I think of Fire fans ... class isn't exactly what comes to mind.

Ives summarizes the moves made by teams at the league's transfer deadline:
Can anyone remember the last time during a season we were able to say something like the bolded part above? Why can't anyone consider team chemistry like the Revs???

If you had to guess what team's fans behaved this way, wouldn't you get it right in one?

I don't think we have a potent attack to add to. I think the best we could hope for is...
New England are in negotiations to begin thinking about the possibility of reviewing CV's for a senior international who may come out of retirement IF he plays on grass in a soccer specific stadium.

By senior international I mean a retiree from the INTERNATIONAL house of pancakes.

    mmmm pancakes.

Yes, but only because Philadelphia hasn't joined yet.

Intertesting stuff going on in both the DCU and Fire locker rooms. Sounds like the DCU players have hit the same wall the Revs did last year but in DC it's degenerated isto a pissing contest between the players. The Fire Coach had a physical fight with one of his players at half time and both the coach and the player were fined by the league. Also sounds like DCU's new special signing- Danny S is not settling in well. All this couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people. :D

Apparently they haven't heard about team chemistry....

I completely agree that it couldn't happen to better teams than those two.

Lots of games that affect lots of things this weekend:

    Saturday:
Los Angeles Galaxy at D.C. United,7:30 p.m. (on FSC)
Toronto FC at Chivas USA, 10:30 p.m
    Sunday
Colorado Rapids at Chicago Fire, 6:00 p.m.
Real Salt Lake at New England Revolution, 6:00 p.m.
Seattle Sounders FC at Houston Dynamo, 8:30 p.m.

The LA/DC game is huge for both teams, and a DC loss really puts them in a tough position, especially in regards to their standing in the East in front of us. A Chivas USA win would be nice over TFC. Colorado/Chicago's interesting from our point of view as Colorado/Chivas might be fighting to keep the 4th place Eastern team (possibly the Revs) out of the playoffs. Seattle/Houston should be a good one and is important in the West standings.

Yes, there are two other games this weekend ... but no one cares.

If a red bull falls in a Dallas suburb and no one is there to see it, does it count as a home game for NY? :p

Post Game Quote from Kasey Keller:

"Once again, we will have to change our lineup around. At some time, we need to go on a three, four, or five game run with the same team on the field and start to build some unity. There’s some crazy stat that we have had 21 games and only the same back 4 a handful of times. And that’s very difficult for a team."

    I've heard this before somewhere....

We kept hearing about how Houston did it without a DP ... well, no longer. It's official.

Source: Red Bulls are for sale

According to a reliable MLS source, the MLS club is talking to FC Barcelona.

That source is one damn good source who has his ear to the ground and knows what's happening in and around the league.

    wow!

I'm glad. I'd rather they be called almost anything than being named after a soft drink that's worse that the renderings of an out-house. :D
