DC tied in their home leg against El Salvador's CD L.A. Firpo 1-1 in the CCL playoff stage.

Toronto plays tonight at home against the Puerto Rico Islanders, and RBNY (YOUR Western Conference CHAMPIONS!) play tomorrow against W Connection.

What's the waiver procedure?? How fast can we get him in New England?

It should be worst record and then up. I guess this is where our being blah for the first half of the season could help us.

Now someone just needs to send a DVD to the Revs FO.

I'd like to get Cooke as well, but the salary is a bit high:

COL Cooke Terry M $187,500.00 $192,500.00 (base and guaranteed)

Another issue is that he hasn't really played in the past year, is he still fit and can he do the defensive work? Offensively, I'd love to have his crosses and dead balls.

His salary would be prorated at about $90k for the year. I don't think it would kill our cap. The other question is legit...

Before people suggest that we pick up Cooke and waive Thompson, doesn't Cooke require a foreign player slot? Are people ready to lump Castro For Cooke? Castro seems like he might be more useful in late game situations when we are trying to keep the ball, though I agree Cooke is the better offensive threat.

Jon, you're getting all logistic here. I think people would like to have Cooke here, but probably not at any cost. When confronted with the real cost ($, roster, who makes room), as you point out, some won't be as excited about it. I just think it's worth looking into. The Revs can always walk away.

Since it's obvious that Assengue's not going to be used this year, why not find someplace to loan him out to, and then you're all set with needing a International spot.

From reading the Rapids boards Cooke isn't an Senior International anymore...

I'd do this in a minute. Solid, logical idea...it will never happen. Get a job in the FO FFS and fix this team.

I'd take Cooke as I think he fits well within the Nicol mold. He'd slot right in and be a game changer very quickly.

IF--- and I know it's a BIG IF---Twellman can come back this season we will need to do just that.

Anyone have an insight as to why the CRapids have let him go if he would be such a great pickup? A lot of things can look good at the recycling center but after you lug them home and plug them in the reason they were discarded usually become obvious.

No ... we can cut someone like Thompson if Twellman comes back. There's no reason we can't do both.
I know a part of it was that they were trying to open up space for Smith, another Scottish (?) international.

He's really been in the doghouse there since Clavijo "left". I think he's done well in the occasional cameo since them but can't get minutes. I'm sure the Colorado boards have more details on that situation.

Great........Crappy player with decent speed but no brains or an aging veteran of the EPL that can whip in a nice cross and still has some tread left on the tires.............Looks like the Revs will sign Khano in a few days! ;)
