Just looked at the 4 teams left. You really have to wonder about Arsenal if they can't win a trophy from that lot
Aaand I'm stuck watching Barca right now. Fun game. The Granada keeper has pulled some ridiculous saves off. Ray Hudson is having an aneurysm.
He didnt take over a Barca team that won everything lol. He made a very good team into the undebateably best team in the world
They had won everything or is my memory failing me? I liked him to. He has a more elegant personality than say a moron like mourinho but its how they ended up, passing for passings sake. When you also add in him making his doping doctor from his time at Brescia head doctor at Barca, other instances of not turning up to train when uefa arrived for a random drugs testing amongst other things they become questionable. How this arrival timed with Xavi who had been on his way out the door and was struggling with stamina issues throughout his career suddenly maintaining this pace of play. Of course the infamous drugs scandal of last year that was covered up. All things added together makes him a sketchy customer. But most people don't like to think about things like this as it spoils their dreams lol
They had won nothing for a couple of years when he arrived, he weeded out those he deemed unneccesary or had bad dicipline (Deco, Dinho) and imposed the style even further. The Barca team he inhereted cant be compared to the all winning Bayern he inhereted
One more thing, how weird have Villarreal been the past couple of years? They went from disaster to right about where we've been accustomed to seeing them fairly quickly.
The year they got relegated was strange. They had one of the better defences in the league but just couldn't score goals after losing Rossi and nilmar through injury.
Its was someone's straw hat argument about not signing relegated defenders as they have no confidence, just assuming they would be crap as they went down( Zapata would have been good at the time for pennies) Nilmar would have been great as well apart from injury. That's the way it goes unfortunately
Looks as though Liverpool could be on their way to the League, based on the football they've played this season, it's more than deserved
Really entertaining match. Suarez is showing the one fatal flaw in his game - when you're labeled a diver, you don't get calls even if you probably should.
Brendan Rodgers and Rudi Garcia share the title of manager of the year for me, even if Liverpool don't win the title. Both have given their clubs a winning mentality - probably the hardest thing a manager can give a club.
