I forgot about Scholes he should have been on the Euro team... which is the excuse I'm hearing for why Micah Richards is on the Olympic side
If you didn't catch the SJ v LA game from tonight, you really missed out. Instant classic. Probably best game of the year for MLS so far. You have to just laugh that MLS makes a switch to the playoffs that makes it so the best overall team gets to host the final in the same year that SJ and DC decide to make their comeback. A final at Buck Shaw? Just shoot me now...
Game should've been tied. LA should've had a penalty for a handball in that one. I'm sure their karma police will be able to show why it wasn't given though
I'm not certain the first one, where Arena and Magee came unglued, was a hand ball. The second one, though, sure did look like Cronin used his arm despite what Foudy (not sure what game she was watching at times) was saying
Looks like the MLS is getting some new DP's pretty soon. Will there be an extra DP spot next season? A good increase in salary cap? What untapped market will RSL head to? More Asian markets? MLS is getting bigger and badder, what is the next move?
Looks like possibly Nesta: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/07/02/impact-confirm-nesta-offered-contract-mum-status not sure who else.
had the DP rule been different, Seedorf and possibly Drogba would have also made their way here. Too bad we've already played Montreal this year (or TFC, he if goes there) at home. I would have loved to seen Nesta
Nesta and it looks like LAG is getting another one. Granted, LD is probably on his way out. LAG fans have stated that his house is up for sale.
"In regard to ticket sales or merchandising or whatever, I'm a football man," Pearce said. "I have to back my opinion. I feel very sorry for David, I know how much it meant to him. I do understand that." This is a big ******** you to DB. I have a feeling that when DB jumped over to the States, England said ******** this guy. First it was George Washington now it's DB (expect for the whole "official" treason thing).
It's pretty bad considering most countries don't really care about mens olympic soccer. It's small time compared to all the tournaments they're a part of.
Speaking of Beckham, how many, if any, games do you think he will be suspended for kicking two balls at the ref and a player on the ground? http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-06-30-sj-v-la/highlights?videoID=190752
Probably just one. I do not agree with what he did, but it's amazing what a ball can do to an "injured" player . If he missed the player, probably two games, but you gotta reward the accuracy. Beautiful stuff!
If Brek Shea got 3, he should at least get 3 as well. Considering how much whining and the tackles he gets away with, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 0 or 1.
His first shot was way off though. You can see it soar through the frame a few seconds earlier. He also hit the ref which is probably what is going to cost him more. Cronin sure did get "healthy" awfully fast though. But then what would you expect from the Earthquakes. I think Lenhard is probably giving lessons after practice each day.
When I saw the Beckahm kick live the first thing I thought was "dayamn, he really curved that thing in there, perfect placement" and laughed hard. It really was a good kick though, curved it around the one san jose player and tagged cronin lying on the ground. Funny as hell.
Tough to pick a dog in this fight. On the one hand you have Teflon Beckham. On the other hand you have San Jose, a team that appears to be taking diving to a new art form. This is definitely a 'pour me a tall one while I lean back in my chair and watch, because I can't lose!'
This will really test the (vanishing) legitimacy of the DisCo. Do they have the balls to suspend Golden Balls? Though, I'm going to submit a conspiracy theory: Beckham did this just so he could go to the Olympics regardless of being on the team or not. This way, he'll be suspended and not just saying "******** off" to LAG
loved watching the douche nuckles lose tonight, cant ********ing stand lenhar...errrr, lendouche. SJ has easily become my least favorite team in the league.
Remember how we (and everyone else) thought that the West was going to just be brutal this year and the East was going to be weak as hell? Well, based on points per game... #1 - San Jose (West) #2 - Sporting KC (East) #3 - DC United (East) #4 - New York (East) #5 - Salt Lake (West) etc
