Alternately, you could have lunch with Tony Meola for only $1000 (does not include 2,500 pounds of lunch plankton). http://www.thuzio.com/tony-meola.html
What is the "????" about? Not familiar with him? He played in a few reserve matches for us in 2008. He played for DCU like Jaime's brother (or was it Christian Gomez' brother?) played for DCU.
It's not surprising. If you were to make a list of people who played in reserve matches for DCU, there'd be a huge number of people like him that were never on the formal roster (never had any kind of contract with MLS) -- they just played in a reserve match or three, either as a way of trying out, or simply to fill out enough numbers to play a reserver match because we didn't have enough available players.
Ive never heard of this before? Think you can still get Petke? Should of invited him to coach talk held last week for STH. This is the shit I'd do with money to burn. Hahahah - or put McBride on my O30 team. "Yeah Brian, just fed the ball in bro."
Curt Onalfo is in there. I think it's interesting that his bio completely omits what he did between leaving his head coaching position at KC in 2009 and joining LA as an assistant in 2011.
The US team under Klinsmann stinks. Bad last year, bad this year, 1992 type bad. Klinsmann is the wrong guy for the job, doesn't seem to get Americans or our playing style, he has taken the US back to mercenary crap last seen here when Milutinovic was coach. It's as if the past 20 years didn't happen. It's a huge mistake. Gulati should be gone along with Jurgen.
Richmond Kickers just tweeted a link to the DC United training notes for today. Not any content about the kickers. I guess they will be marketing themselves as well as DC. Richmond Kickers @RichmondKickers D.C. United training notes http://fb.me/2enbBbnw2
I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I thought it was a fairly moving post. http://robbierogers8.moonfruit.com/
I think they had their best record ever last year. Wins in Italy and Azteca and a tie @ Russia. I don't think they were as good as their record showed, but it was far from 1992 type bad.
Good for him. I hope Chicago welcomes him back with open arms. It would be a major point of pride to have MLS blow the doors off the professional sports closet.
I hope he rethinks his decision to quit soccer. It can still be his outlet whatever his sexual orientation. Given the makeup of the fan base for many/most English teams continuing to play there might be virtually impossible, but I would like to think he would get a much warmer welcome in the USA. And good for Frank Klopas to issue a no-nonsense statement that RR is welcome in Chicago.
25 seems so young to quit the game, but that young man is wise beyond his years. I can't imagine how difficult it has been for him to keep that secret for so long from so many people. Here's to you, Robbie Rogers, I'm a big fan!
I'd like to hope that he left because he feels he can make more than his 100k salary somewhere else, rather than because MLS fans and players would treat him like crap.. but who knows
