It changes all the time. Right now I'm leaning towards this shrimp corn chowder she makes that would blow you away. Please Lord let us throw 3 past those Cholivar bastards so I can enjoy a little chowder and gloat at the same time. :D

If it doesn't go your way, and she gets her choice of restaurant, is she bound to choose something reasonable? Or can she say "The Inn at Little Washington"?

    Ssssshhh ;)

Na, whatever she wants. I got her hooked on Panisa this great Thai joint that opened up so I have a feeling we'll end up there if they get lucky.

This may have already been posted but the Post (dead tree edition) is reporting that Blanco is leaving Chicago & will rejoin Veracruz.

The Fire is trying to negotiate a return after the WC.

I'm not sure how I feel - I hate the bastard, so do I want him to stay and stain the Fire, disrupting their season and causing distractions, or do I just side with my desire to never have to see him again ;)

Well, since the Fire disbanded for this season, I see no reason for him not to get out of town. Otherwise, he'll have to live in Chicago until such time as DC United deems to begin their season and he can play again. I wouldn't even wish living in Chicago on someone as repulsive as no-neck...

How the hell did Iowa win? How can a quarterback throw 5 interceptions in a game and not get punished for it?

Watching the Columbus-RSL game reminds me of how much DC has lost by not taking part in many trades over the last few years (other than the Gomez debacle). Just looking at RSL, I would love to have Findley, Beckerman, Wingert, or Johnson, and all of them were available in relatively modest trade deals. I just hope we aren't as stagnant when the next trade window opens up, as there are still plenty of good deals to be had in MLS.

Don't be silly. We obviously weren't interested in peasants like that! RSL plays negative football.

That was a weird game. I actually watched the whole thing. (Horrible slate of games this week in the 12:00 & 3:30 time slots). Indiana left a bunch of points on the board, including one where they picked off Iowa, then threw an absolutely freakish pick-6 the other way. That's a 14 point swing right there.

We drafted Brian Arguez over Robbie Findley. We got, what, no league playing time from him, and $500k for him? Brad Evans, Corey Ashe, and Omar Cummings were also available at that point. But hey, $500k.

At the time, I questioned drafting someone who was that young when we had problems with depth. But you're right: that's half a million less that the team lost that year.

And I questioned it because we already had multiple options at the position. However, a bigger travesty was the #1 pick we gave up for Rod Dyachenko. It was depressing looking at the drafts prior to 2009 and seeing how we did so poorly while others teams did well. Looking at this year's rookies around the league, it's clear that the value of a quality draft can't be ignored. That's why I'm hoping DC tries to pry away a first round pick from FCD, as next year's first round looks to be just as deep as this year's.

As for the money, what did we do with it? We sold Perkins, got a cut of Adu's move, and proceeded to blow it all on players who were gone in a year. I'd rather have had Cummings or Findley than wasted the money on overpriced S.A. that were either outmatched or ill-positioned.

Except it was allocation money. It went towards players, not paying off debts.

No GBS or Moreno at Salt Lake, gonna check the Columbus boards, methinks a new group of peasants with torches and pitchforks is forming up to storm the castle.

The past few years, I kept saying "wait until they're healthy." No Caron Butler or Antawn Jamison and they have a 20 point lead on the Nets in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Arenas didn't even play the fourth quarter and I believe he had 32 points in less than 30 minutes. I really like the new, old Gilbert Arenas. Blatche is keeping it simple and playing how we've always wanted him to play. That will be huge once Jamison is back.

It's a good thing NE and RSL play such conservative cynical boring soccer. Otherwise I would have to watch these games and be depressed by the awfully low attendances.

The Bullets (Wizards) are playing well so far, as long as they can stay healthy. They stuck with Dallas for a win, lost to ATL because they were crap at the freethrow line and pretty much owned the Nets last night. Looking good so far, but season is still 3 games in and lets hope they can carry this steam.

There's a good possibility that MLS' "marquee" teams don't get out of the first round again. Great playoff system.

OK, but my point still stands that the pick was terrible. Plus, I'm pretty sure we found a way to blow that allocation money on someone who didn't work out.
