I read that Tigre players tried to rush the SPFC locker room and the security beat the piss out of them, and then continued to beat them back in their locker room.
Where did you hear that? That's the first I've heard of that, although I wouldn't be surprised. I'd heard that the security attack was a continuation of a brawl between the teams that happened as they were exiting the pitch.
All I saw was that it was mutually agreed on so I assume the original source was a Red Bull tweet or web article. I didn't bother to look further.
wow, sorry about posting his face that size in case you were eating lunch - on twitter the pic looked much smaller.
After reading more, i'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle. The commentary of the SPFC VP which obviously should be taken with a grain of salt. "Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes, one of Sao Paulo's vice presidents told reporters that Tigre players tried to "break into the Brazilian team's locker room and injured some of Sao Paulo's security guards."" When you combine that with the commentary of the players, it seems like fighting continued into the tunnels and near the entrances to the locker rooms, the SPFC security couldnt break it up (maybe they were helping with the beat down), and police were brought it to help break up the chaos (who maybe also helped beat down tigres). Tigre players feel like they were attacked so they refused to return to the field, and officials say everybody was unarmed.
The report I read had Tigre players saying that guns were drawn and one of the police had a revolver pushed to their GK's chest
I would put money on something like this happening. Just trying to show the SPFC people denying it as evidence of it happening.
