According to Wikipedia Orlando City had 3500 season ticket holders on march 1st. Any idea what they are on now?

If the average attendance is under 6,000 for OCSC this season, I will personally buy four season tickets for both the Rowdies and Strikers for next year and will document proof online that I did so.

OCSC will on the low end average 8,000 a game this season, with the final number being somewhere in the 9k range in my opinion NOT INCLUDING FRIENDLIES AND PLAYOFFS. I am very confident OCSC will continue to shut the mouths of the dummies in Tampa and South Florida. Some of you truly have absolutely no clue how deep in this community OCSC is involved and how much of a presence they have made in the city as to where even the casual sports fan in Orlando knows about the team.

This will be a banner year for Orlando City. Mark my word....

it will be a banner year because you play former PDL teams and USL2 teams.

Join NASL and see what happens.

BTW Harlem Globetrotters sell tickets but in NBA they would get killed.

I hope Orlando City SC averages 8K fans a game. I want all florida teams to do well at the gate. BTW,my family and I attended 3 matches last season and had a great time.

My problem with high attendance estimates is the competition, not the quality but the numbers. There are so few teams in the league now, how excited can you get to watch the third game against the hammerheads? Sure, the ticket numbers might be 6k but, how many butts are actually in the seats?

I'll personally be missing the puerto ricin teAm- those were always entertaining...

If you're going to call that a bad situation, it's not as bad a situation as the NASL. Here, most teams have a situation where you see one or two teams twice. In the NASL, you play all seven teams twice at home.

I really don't like to name call, but you truly are arguably the biggest idiot on big soccer and that is not a title I take lightly considering the site is infested with dummies.

Orlando City could become more successful then the Sounders and you will still find something to bitch and moan about.

The fact Orlando City has gotten and continues to get the support they get playing in D-III is all the more impressive. While Orlando City keeps growing, you can keep bitching....

so much wanking in here, its ridiculous.

Low end 8k? the team averaged 5400 last season. How many of those were actual paid tickets we'll likely never know, but it certainly wasn't 5400. You are talking about a 50% increase in announced attendance, paid or not, that is a massive increase for just one season. If that happens, good for you guys.

Just be thankful that you've got an owner who is talking a big game regarding MLS, which is what your entire fan base and support so far is based on. The rest of us are having to do it the hard way and actually promote, and increase fans for, the league we currently play in, but we'll get it done given enough time. Mark my words.

I hope for your sakes that your MLS dreams don't ever crumble. But if they do, maybe we'll find out just how much actual interest there'd be in a team playing in the third division of U.S. soccer.

That is unless Rawlins decides to stab another city in the guts and moves his soccer team yet again if his plans fall through. You guys mean as much to him as the fans in Austin did, which wasn't much as it turns out. Always remember that.

So don't count on any mouths being shut any time soon. That'll take a soccer specific stadium and an MLS franchise. Maybe. Until then all we hear is noise.

more successful than Sounders...hahaha you are delusional. I wonder why Montreal decided to go with NASL instead of staying in USL?

The answer they didn't want to play against scabs.

Considering how shitty they were last year, they probably could've used to play against "scabs". Not that it would've helped any...

It's sounding like its going to be a big turnout this Sunday's for the home opener.
Like O-Rays said in another thread, on the weekly radio show on 740am Adam said close to 10k people is possible.
The website announced that the VIP suites are sold out. I'm not sure if that's happen before. Maybe the Championship game?
And this Thursday evening is the IOA Corporate 5k, in downtown Orlando. Which is a HUGE event.
OCSC will be participating and doing a special ticket offering:
If you're downtown for the event Thursday night, keep your eye to the sky before the race. From 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Orlando City will be flying a special banner around the staging area. It will feature a Twitter hashtag. Everyone that tweets the hashtag during the offer period will be contacted and give a special ticket offer for Sunday's home opener.
    About the 5k
This is a 3.1-mile run/walk event held exclusively for Florida’s corporate community. Businesses and non-profit organizations form teams and participate in the Corporate 5k for camaraderie, friendly competition and celebrating with co-workers. Consisting of over 700 local companies made up of 14,000 participants that include employees, CEOs, vendors, friends and families.

Like George, I hope that Orlando have a great season at the gate and build a good solid franchise. If it works out, I would like to make it over from Gulf coast to see the team this season.

As for the trolls from my hometown in Tampa. Shut up. The rivalry you have in your pea sized brains with Orlando isn't real.

One troll really. Don't group the other Rowdie fans with him. Best thing to do is ignore him. His shtick is well known.

From all your posts it seems like your a Lions fan more than a Rowdies fan.

Dude I haven't seen that much criticism about the Rowdies from any of us except from you.

I think you're off on this. Most guys/girls at the games, IMO, aren't holding their breath on MLS. They just like the soccer. Or sometimes the beer. There wasn't any big MLS talk back when they sold the first years season tickets..

And the Rawlins digs are old and used up... Sorry .

Defending champion Orlando City has already sold more than 10,000 tickets for its 2012 home opener Sunday against the Wilmington Hammerheads at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

The team website is reporting section sell-outs on both sides of midfield, though I'd love to know where your source is.

I think that's fantastic for soccer here in the US, but IMO, folks should put more emphasis behind the average ticket cost for every butt in a seat. Is an attendance of 5,000 at an average of $5 a seat better than 3,000 at $10? I understand that fan awareness needs to be built and a lot more concessions will be sold, but you also risk the chance of permanently devaluing the experience - especially if the long term goal is to go MLS when you will be needing 20,000 fans shelling out $15-$25 per seat.
