Onyewu starts, but Sporting fell behind 1-0 in the early minutes. Same score after 26 minutes right now.

Onyewu brushes an Academica player to the turf as he rises to head a corner into the hands of the opposing keeper. That's the best chance of the 20 minutes I've had this match on.

I think it's Polga that is partnering Onyewu today. Polga nearly gifts Academica a 2nd goal to begin the 2nd half, as he is too slow to cover an obvious through ball. The keeper stops the 1-vs-1 though.

Still 1-0. Onyewu is quite a threat on set pieces, but Sporting aren't creating enough chances from open play. The only great chance was a 1-vs-1 that Matias wasted about 20 minutes ago.

Onyewu is now a center forward, only a few minutes remain.

1-0 final. Onyewu nearly had an assist at the end, he flicked a long ball forward but his teammate could not get his shot around the Academica keeper. Also Sporting had a tough break near the end, as a double handball in the box was ignored by the referee.

I didn't see any major defensive problems for Sporting, and I didn't see the goal so I don't know who was responsible.
    MadRHatter repped this.

@schrutebuck Did you see Academica's walk up the stands through a crowd of Sporting fans?
