One Player Per Nation Draft - Registrations

And Didi was my other choice! Damnit! Didnt think there was much chance of any of them making it back round for me though and I guess priorities change with every pick you make.

 

Honestly, as in all drafts in which I participated, I haven't a clear plan at this early stage so if this makes things easier I won't choose a Dutch in my next turn.

 

Ok, well don't feel you have to decide yet. You could wait and then still choose a Dutch player if you change your mind. But, I don't want to confuse you so yeah maybe it's best to just check back when Sammer's Hammer and Doge have picked (or Sammer's Hammer has picked then 12 more hours have passed). I don't know when doge will pick so maybe better to check back tomorrow rather than wait for your turn late tonight.... (although I know you have a few more hours of the evening left than me!).

Only if you did want a Dutch player after Sammer's Hammer had picked would you be able to go before doge, but if you're not picking Orange then you'd have to wait till after doge's pick basically.

I hope this isn't indicative of the overall pace of the draft. These first picks should be easy, guys. The shortlist for the top 200 or so guys is on about 10 websites at least. You just pick one and go. Not much strategy here.

The draft is getting too slow.

 

The world time zones aren't helping - the only logical solution is a 1 hour pick deadline

 

People have to be thinking about their pick before it is their turn. That's all. No one is upset when a guy is genuinely busy.

It was Rivera that I nearly picked instead of Bobby Moore.

I remember lanman suggested we could make it even harder by not allowing players who played for the same club side either, and I think I would have been the first to break that rule at that stage with Rivera as well as Van Basten being AC Milan players (didn't play for them at the same time though obviously so weren't real team-mates).

 

We should have a shorter 'pick clock' but with no clock ticking during sleeping hours for your time zone. But then no one would really administer that.

 

True, I dont think anybody would administer that. Lets just leave it as it is for the moment.

 

Wow. I'll be away from Saturday to Monday (should be able to pick though) and was hoping the draft wouldn't be too slow to force me to make me my second pick on the phone. As it stands, there's a small chance it won't even have come back around to me by the time Monday rolls around. This does not bode well for the chances of this draft getting finished, especially coming into Christmas.

I don't see Peru FC coming in anytime soon. It isn't his time zone. Anyway, it will be a long way before my turn.
