Time for Kevin to get his own thread, now that Michael is off to Greece. He's a 20 year old dual American-Argentinian, who plays as a forward. And he's still at Estudiantes, as of June. He scored for the "youths" in a reserve match on June 20: http://www.edelpoficial.com.ar/node/521
Kevin scored a goal recently in a youth tournament. He's 20 years old, FYI. http://noticiasar.com/deportes/juveniles-solo-un-triunfo/
Kevin Hoyos has been loaned to Victoria, a club in Honduras, and has scored 4 goals in 3 games. http://futbolistasaxem.com.ar/?p=3833
wooowww I was right the entire time LMAO! I noticed some kid named Kevin Hoyos come out of the blue to start for Victoria recently, and in the back of my head I was like "hmmm maybe he's related to that Argie-American kid at OFI Crete, Michael".. guess my senses were right. The kid is really lively out there. how tf did he end up in Honduras?
Victoria play Tijuana this Thursday in CCL, should be a good test. http://us.soccerway.com/teams/honduras/cd-victoria/
I believe his goals vs. Motagua are at 1:45 and 2:39, the picture above being after the 2nd, a putback on a penalty that went off the post: Opened his Champions' League account in style vs. Luis Angel Firpo on 9/19 at 0:25 - @bungadiri - On to Victory: Kevin Hoyos at CD Vitoria la Ceiba?
Its C.D. Victoria.. not Vitoria (we're not Brazilian or Portuguese ).. La Ceiba isn't in their name either lol.. its just the city they play in but if you're going to add it to the title, capitalize the L in La since its a part of the city's name.
Aw. Thread title correction is in order. So nice to see fans of World Cup teams getting along. I hope you guys beat the Ticos and make Mexico sweat. And uh, nice couple finishes by our boy huh?
Interview with Kevin Hoyos: http://www.diez.hn/Ediciones/2013/0...n-la-seleccion-de-Estados-Unidos#.UkH154amih1
u seen this guy play before? He any good? I wonder about his ability since he chose to leave estudiantes.
Only seen him play with Victoria up to now. Can't really tell you about his track record in Argentina. He's pretty good in space near the box. Really aware and has a real cracker of a right foot. Not really fast, works with his back towards goal okay. I'd like to see how he progresses this Apertura before I make a solid judgement.
From google translate, appears he's very interested in playing for the Yanks: Q: "Do you regret not having opted for U.S. citizenship to play for?" A: "Yes, the truth is that I can not repent because you can always aspire to nacionalizarme. I like to play with the U.S. team and if I ever get the chance it would be seized."
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ys-he-and-brother-michael-may-be-moving-home- Looks like the brothers Hoyos may be angling for a move to MLS, although Kevin declines mentioning which team they have been in contact with. He also talks about wanting to play USMNT. They play Tijuana tomorrow, plenty of yanks should be on display.
