If we play like today vs Japan we'll get pwned. They are in good shape I think will be fine like when we went to OT with Honduras and then beat the nads 4-2 in the gold cup. Tena is an idiot, ow could he not patch Jimenez side, specially when we were up by 2? Salcido is horrible, if he starts vs the nads we'll loose the midfield, Chaton is a way better option, especially with his aerial ability. I think it will be a close game with Japan whoever finishes their chances best will win.

Organized, hard-working, high-pressure that looks hard to maintain, fast.
Name that defense as described in a group match victory with zero goals allowed...

I don't think Tena has the balls to bench one of the 3 refuerzos, that's why he's been pairing Salcido with either Herrera or Chaton. Probably also explains why Peralta still starts after a string of pretty bad showings...

Japan has yet to concede a goal during this tournament but they have also yet to face Gio dos Santos

So, i hear that last time we rolled our way into the semis was 44 years ago and it was Japan that took us out to win the bronze. Rematch? you betcha.

lol wut? I hate how everyone here is so negative about the game here. Senegal is no joke, and after the game there was no doubt who the better team was. Yes, they had their moments, especially down the left flank, but that game was ours. We almost gifted it to them, but at the end we got it back.

The team gets better every game and that's great to see. Japan will be tough, but I always back the guys to do well and I think we're more talented than them. It's mind boggling that just because you guys don't like 2/3 players and the coach that you guys have to talk shit about the entire team.

I'm not talking shit about the team. The game could have gone either way 3 of our goals came from mistakes. A more organized team that has not conceded goals like Japan probably wont be as naive. Yes credit to our team for pouncing on those errors. I know Senegal is a good team this game could have gone either way, even though our fitness gave us the edge in over time and we were the better team in the end. Beating Japan will come down to finishing the chances we get and not making stupid mistakes on defense. As for hating some players, hate is too strong a word, it was just obvious to everyone, but Tena Salcido kept loosing the ball and causing dangerous counters until they finally scored. The left flanks was begging for attention too and a defensive sub to help Jimenez came too late. The game vs Japan will be more closed and much more strategic than what we saw today. Do I think we will win? yes. But not if the lessons seen today are not addressed.

What are the lessons? Corona is weak on crosses? we knew that before this game and Senegal basically water boarded us with crosses but "only two"(out of like 20) went in so it's not much of a deal since with chaton plus the regulars we have enough to deal with that, and Japan will not play that game the only issue will be mental farts, as long as we keep those to a minimum Japan is not much of an offensive threat and we now Gio for the full 90 instead of just 20 mins like we did in that friendly.

The difference between this game and the friendly:
    Expect a concentrated team.

A faster pace, that friendly Mexico played really reserved and held back energy.

Expect higher ball pressure on the ball, those mistakes from Senegal didnt come out of thin air, the pressure on the caused Senegal to cough up the ball. See goal 3, and 4.

Fabian and gio are linking up very well and the opposing defense are having a very hard time marking both man. Their brilliance will continue to open up spaces for us.

Japan doesn't sit back they are very direct so expect to see open spaces. Plus chaton needs to keep winning the midfield for us that guy is a monster hope he gets well rested.

And someone please get those times right damn it I need to schedule my time at work.

At this point Salcido seems like dead weight. He didn't fuk up as much against Senegal but he did fuk up. And what exactly is he contributing to the team? So fuked up that we have young [players on the bench that would love to get a shot and they're not even used.

Agreed. Our biggest loss wasn't Chicharito, it was Moreno/Ayala.
