the verdict in is on lovren: not bad at all, 2 matches which will almost certainly be luçon and dijon. in other headlines JMA said he would be favorale to a deal to send cissokho to blighty... for 10 briques. we all knew that i think.
I've been seeing some rumors of Cissokho to Arsenal, but I don't really by them, especially for 10 mil.
Aly is out for this weekend game. Officialy a little injury, but can it be to prepare a move?? Anyway, all our defensive line is out now for this game, Bastos maybe play back again as he did a really good job against Lille. We should see some more youngster.
Curious, how many people in the OL forum have been to a Ligue 1 match, who do not currently live in France?
i think not. i've never heard of such, there's no lloris on the OGCN roster pro or reserves, and no mention of a brother on hugo's wiki page. but he was born in nice and came up through the academy at the gym'. i did learn he was a top junior tennis player and has a bac S!
So after all the rumors no one was sold off. That tells me they are serious about qualifying for the Champions League next year as well as this year.
depending on just how good some of the kids turn out to be (and you gotta be impressed) there may be some outgoing this summer.
Yes I expect Cissokho and Gourcuff to be gone this summer but people thought they were leaving in Jan. so its nice they were kept.
Never heard of him...But should I have? Apparently there was a transfer "saga". - The National - Skysports
Are we allowed to link to other forums? I ask because there is a Nice forum where in a thread they mention "Gauthier Lloris, a brother of Hugo"
the BS general policy seems to be not to permit link to other forums, and the reason is that these kinds of links in their majority are not done to share information with vibrant existing communities but create traffic on marginal and sometimes even dodgy blogs and forums that play fast and loose with both journalistic deontology and the truth. that said, i have no problem with links to real club and supporter sites. anyway, with the first name you mention (note correct spelling is without the h) i've dug up all the news that's fit to print: here's a march 2011 blurb from the daily newspaper Le Parisien (my translation): Gautier Lloris, 15 years old, is following in the footsteps of his brother Hugo, goalkeeper for Lyon and les bleus. At the Nice academy since 2007, the sturdy young man (1,88 m, 77 kg) doesn't play in goal but on defense. Last week he took part in a camp that gathered the best young players in the country. i want to point out that i found this article not directly but from a swarm of hits that paraphrased it and metastisized all over the unterweb word for word, sometimes with the credit to le parisien, sometimes deliberately taking it out. only on foot01 do you find a major rewording of the article... in fact, their version is longer and includes a few details that make one wonder if they might be the parisien's (uncredited) source! the fact that the big paris daily being the only one carrying the story with bricks (and paper) behind the clicks doesn't really mean squat these days. it's possible they both worked directly from this announcement on the FFF website, but the two articles are similar enough to suggest one was inspired by the other. anyway, in the FFF announcement we learn: from the 1st to the 5th this march 71 players born 1995 will gather at the Centre Technique National "Fernand-Sastre" in Clairefontaine to participate in tryouts for the U16 national team conducted by Jean-Claude Giuntini. The players will be divided in two groups... and among the defenders that tried out from the 1st to the 3rd we find: Gautier Lloris (OGC Nice) he was not picked for the U16 last year nor for the U17 this year. but he is good enough to be surclassé at the OGCN academy where he plays in U19. ite, missa est.
He looks really familiar but I can't place it. I just read a Bleacherreport article that described OL's offense as "awful".
it's yohan gomez. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/FootballFicheJoueur16366.html he never broke through at OL, and just to show how difficult it is to know what the future holds, he seemed just about on a level in those days with flo balmont!
it took me 5 minutes to convince myself that said blog, at least as concerns french football, is one of the very worst in the PAF (paysage d'analyse footballistique). and i'm a fair and impartial man.
2 brief questions: 1) How can I see OL matches every week? In the USA, we have one Ligue 1 match every week. How do I find either streams and/or links to watch Olympique Lyonnais every week? OR maybe at least, Ligue 1 weekly highlights? 2) Any English language iPhone apps? i have seen a OL iPhone app, but it doesn't look official and it is in French. Merci for your time and help.
Try www.livetv.ru/en I use this site for many ligue 1 matches (and just sbout any sporting event). Sometimes the feeds will be shut down during the match but just go back and pick a different stream. The quality isn't always good but its free. If you want to pay, foxsoccer has an online option which airs most, if not all, ligue 1 games.
