Reading Carra's autobiography it seems his dad Phil and Neville Neville became great drinking buddies at Germany 2006. And the pair served as informal bodyguards for Posh Beckham. So off the pitch they are not really enemies.
It's going to be really interesting to see how the person who does the sub titles for JC handles it. Some insular people have trouble understanding scouse, so many words begin with 'F'.
I'm not going to lie, I was desperately hoping he'd reverse his decision. I was a teenager as he made his teenage debut. All time favorite player. It sounds petty as shit but I don't think I'll be the same watching him in a suit on Sky then watching him in the Red shirt.
This might be sacrilegious, but I don't think Neville has taken too poorly to punditry. When I've listened to him, he's actually been more pro-liverpool than Souness, Hansen, Lawrenson, Whelan, and some others. (except for Thommo. Thommo still loves us. )
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/carra-you-ll-not-see-me-crying Carragher's last press conference. I'm realize now that I'm pretty lucky to have seen Carra and Gerrard play live in a meaningful game before they retired. (Thanks again Scholesy)
I want his final home jersey. Very happy he is able to end his career w/ a productive season, and not one on the injured list or riding the pine. Too bad we didn't qualify for the Champions League again. Would have been a great ending.
yeh actually agree with this too... This might be really bad and expecting retaliation but although I hate NEVILLE I never believed he was fake and he always gave it all for the shirt he wore (mind you it was the wrong shirt). When he did his weird gyrations in front of the Liverpool support it was classless, but came from a place of deep passion. Who among us has not done something classless out of passion. I told a complete stranger at a bar to shut the f*** up and go back to Nebraska you piece of S***,or something along those lines, because he had the nerve to cheer for the Colts when they were playing the Chargers. I am pretty sure I have called Howard Webb, Steve Bennett and the group of United lads at the pub I go to much worse. Neville might be a F*** but he is basically a supporter who got to play. And Jamie is our supporter who got to play. He has as much passion and drive for the team as anyone in the Kop, and that's something you can't fake. I would give anything to be in the Kop on Sunday singing "we all dream of a team of Carragher's" but I guess I will have to do it 6,000 miles away.
I hope all the pricks who referred to Jamie being a Hoofer aren't retrospectively commiserating his retirement. Cheeky ********ers would not respect a great CB and will only miss his greatness when its gone Nothing worse then hypocrites who constantly bitched about a player only to realize to little to late how great he was. edit: and yes im bitter, that he wont reverse his decision and that he didn't start the FA cup final, we'll never see a better CB play for us again.

Bonafide legend and his legacy will always be the intense passion he had for the club, helping to will LFC to so many victories. As a player I tried to emulate Jamie Carragher. Like many, I will always remember his outstanding performance in Istanbul.
