I took the survey. Skipped a bunch of it. But I voted for Western Sydney Rangers. Purple, White, Black and Gold colors like Madrid

Can almost guarantee red and black will feature heavily in their colours, they'll want a United v City look for the derbies.

Perth have got the purple thing happening as well, which is why I didn't go with that. :)

That, and some others, were weird. Almost all responses were to be desired, in my mind. yeah, I TOTALLY don't want my club to be passionate, resilient, work hard, etc.

As far as stadia go, not having seen any of these, I picked the Showground (assuming the "new" one, as per a wiki disambiguation page). Seems like there's a lot of action there.

    Any opinions on that question?

ETA: Oh, and colors. I just went with my university alma mater, which was Calif. State Univ., Sacramento. Green, gold, and white.

I'm not to sure how the showground would go. It's a bit of a wierd shape is it was the baseball stadium that they used for the 2000 olympics that has been converted to accomodate an AFL field. They only pluses for it though would be it's capacity is slightly higher than the other suburban grounds considered (Parramatta, Penrith), it has good access to public transport and it's next to ANZ, where they could play their derby games.

I'm pretty sure I just put down Parramatta stadium.

I hated the names on the survey . . . . it's ridiculous and cringeworthy to select a nickname based on teams from the EPL, La Liga.

    my favorites are :

    Western Wombats
    Western Sydney Wattles
    Western Sydney Dreaming

and of course in honour of Australia's living treasure . . . .
Western Sydney Palmers (hmmm, maybe not)

I can't. Not now, after supporting FC for as long as they have existed. :)

    How's this for a NON-marquee player?

Wollongong is down the road from Parramatta and Homebush.

And Tassie is a short swim from Melbourne.

Another thing I'm slightly concerned about is this: what should the geographical branding be? Western Sydney? Sydney? Western (there's a Super Rugby team branded as such, IIRC)? Western Sydney is most complete, but people might forget the "Western" part. Western on its own sounds good, if unusual to my American ears. Another "Sydney" team? If it's good enough for Manchester...

They'll probably follow the AFL team and go with Greater Western Sydney.

Personally GWS PFC just sounds awesome!

Common sense would be something like West(ern) Sydney Wanderers.

(no Super Rugby in Western Sydney - Rugby Union's an exclusively North Shore/Eastern Suburbs thing)

I looked it up and it wasn't either rugby cude. It was an AFL team. The Bulldogs (Melbourne area).

Palace seem to think Poppa's gone to West Sydney on a five year deal.

    Which seems a little... brave.

Either way, don't think many BWE fans will be flocking to Homebush...

Actually saw on TWG, one of those fans was talking about the Croatian conspiracy. I think their first marquee player should be Mark Viduka. :D
