This means the candelo , montano could actually called for the peruvian national side....

Not only that but many players like dos santos , camoranesi and others could actually be call their country of origin...This is big news ..

I know what you mean... However if injuries ( which we had a lot) , cards (which we also had) and neccesity ( we do not have a midfield) called for someone like candelo or montano to be call to the national side , the possibility is there .... Personally i wouldnt mind seeing someone like montano play for peru ( if he is fit and willing to play).

I just found the article to be big news , not only for us but for all the countries participating in the qualifyng rounds.

i would rather play with Luis Cordero than Candelo and Montano

i have no problem with the likes of Julinho and Ibanez but once they have represented another country then it just isnt the same

which is why i still consider Merino a traitor(in a futbol sense), lets face it if his carrear had developed like he wanted it, he would be wearing the Spanish NT shirt right now

Maybe not. However its hard to tell since we never called him for the under 20. Uribe never made an official call for merino.

If uribe officially called merino for the under 20 and he refused to come then he will be a traitor in my eyes.

Anyways if I was a player good enough to play for spain under 20 and peru didnt call me .. ill be piss too and in revenge i ll prob play for the under 20 spain ....

We praised manco so much and he made the same mistake , he actually played for the under 15 of venezuela...

pretty sure Uribe called him or at least he was known to Peruvian selectors at the time he made his choice

when did Manco return to Peru? wasnt he raised in Venezuela?

I read that uribe never made an official call for merino to play for the under 20 team. As far as I know uribe said that merino was invited to try out for the under 20 team which is almost impossible when you have a contract for a different club. Nowdays the only way for you to travel and play for your national team is to get an official call which never happened.

As per manco , here is what i found

So from age 8 to 13 he lived in peru , so he actually developed his skills in peru (played for cantolao)and then returned to venezuela and played for the under 15 side. If anything manco would be a bigger traitor in my eyes

I think manco would of play for venezuela if peru never called him or if he never came back here.

    getting back in the topic

who thinks peru should be playing a 3-4-3 or a 3-5-2??

We have 3 solid backs acasiete - zambrano - rodriguez

we have two solid wingers manco- merino-ramirez and vargas

two ok defensive midfielders rainer torres and lobaton

and 3 powerfull forwards pizarro - guerrero - farfan

We have tried playing a 4-4-2 and it hasnt worked for the last 10 years or so. We dont have right or left backs ...

We also need more people in the midfield

Nero uribe tried this formation which worked great against uruguay until he turned it into a 5-3-2

I can honestly see peru playing like this

    Butron

    Zambrano acasiete rodriguez

    rainer torres lobaton /flemita

    Merino/ramirez vargas/manco

    farfan/arroe

    guerrero pizarro/farfan

by the age of 15 he had lived 8 years of his young life in venezuela, more understandable

now sub 20 is pretty much the last stop before the full NT

you need wingbacks for a 3-5-2 system

and we dont really have that, apart from Vargas, when Oblitas used it he had Solano and Olivares

you could try Miguel Torres out there maybe

I m not sure when merino moved to spain. But i dont think he played for any youth systems in peru (correct if i m wrong), if anything merino developed his soccer under spains youth system . So he pretty much owes his development to spain. I remember him saying somewhere that last year when he got called to play against costa rica , it was the first time he was coming back to peru since the age of 7 ....

I dont think manco learned anything in venezuela , he owes his development to cantolao...

Anyways in my eyes they are both peruvians and i m happy they are playing for peru

As per the 3-5-2...Merino or ramirez could easily play on the right side. It can t be worst than cholo prado ... If anything having 3 full backs will mean that zambrano can take care of the right side if merino or ramirez dont make it back.( we also have 2 defensive midfielders that can help)

Also playing 3-4-3 will mean that guerrero-pizarro or farfan can play more open to the right./left side ( like henry in barcelona) leaving just one as a center forward (like etoo) . Therefore having farfan playing more to the left , guerero to the right and pizarro as a centre forward. Merino and vargas wouldnt have to go forward so much , they could stay in the middle and take care of the back more

i seem to recall Merino got to Spain at the age o either 14 or 15 not to sure

anyway Ramirez and Merino cannot play on the right side of a 3-5-2 they would have in play in the middle

you need someone like Vargas on the right side for that to work

Merino can play on the right side and the middle , anyways if guerrero/farfan is more open to the right side merino could play right behind him... Manco can also play the right side , thats the position he was playing in psv. It shouldnt be hard for ramirez to play right midfielder either ( he is not a 10 thats for sure). On the left vargas is perfect , and we also have hidalgo for backup (he could also play on the right if need it)

Merino moved to spain at the age of 7 or 8 , there was an interview in el bocon a few days back when he mentioned that...

The point of a national team is to figure out what country produces the best talent.

If naturalized players are allowed to play for different countries, NTs become clubs who attract players from anywhere in the world in order to get their services.

I wasn't even a fan of Ibanez and Balerio suiting up for us. Candelo and Montano?? Hell no.

he cant play on the right in a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-3, he needs a fullback behind him

Solano could have played there in his youth but he no longer can handle what a wide player has to do in a 3-5-2 or a 3-4-3

Hidalgo has as far as i know never played on the right side has always been a leftie either defender or mid so no pont putting him there

we simply stick to 4 at the back because we dont have players with the right ability to try 3 at the back with wingbacks, apart from Vargas

the way i see it our best bet for a 3-5-2 with everyone that Chemo will call up

    -------------------Butron
    -------------------Mudo
    ---------Zambrano---------Vilchez
    M Torres-------R Torres----Ballon-------Vargas
    ------------------Merino/Ramirez
    ------------Guerrero------Fano

like i said before maybe M Torres could play there, possibly Corzo or Revoredo but definetly not Merino or even worse Cachito Ramirez

would like to see the link cause for some reason i think he got there older than that
