the worst that can happe is that

a team like barbados or cuba quailfy over us that would be absoulute bad luck.

or if panama who has no football history compare to guatemala.

the only teams im worried about are Jamaica, honduras, T&T, and canada
which will be our direct oppisiton for the third spot or .5 spot

i acutally think CR central american title as kings is over, its between guate and honduras

Maybe, if you take a look at the GUA-CRC games in the hex, one can be quick to point out that both teams are perhaps equal, or if anything else, Guate being better. However, my problem with Guatemala is games against MEX/USA and other highly "respected" teams. It is almost as if they have already given up going into the game, whereas when CRC play against a team with high stature, they give it their all. This is the key difference between the two teams, I think Guatemala can out-do CRC head to head, but Guatemala, mentally, isn't at the same level as CRC. Guatemala is improving, and one can only expect better results and more confidence in the future.

One last thing, I don't know why people are rest assured that CRC has the 3rd spot come next world cup qualifying. I wish them the best and all, but by all means, that spot is not secure at all. I think GUA, CRC, HON, JAM, T&T will be fighting for that spot... I won't be suprised if either one of these teams sneak into the 2nd spot.

exactly guatemala just doesn't perform as well as crc does against big teams. but thet are equal.

CRC confidence is better than guatemala cause of thier football history; 3 world cups qualified to.

who knows what it is, but they are physically capable and should of quailfied to the world cup,

mediocre coaching was also a big factor in guatemala coming short these past 6 years. if el bollio comes , he could possibly be the best coach guatemala has ever had,

think about it ,guatemala has never had coaches who been to worldcup if memory serves my correct, and el bollio has coached it twice with two different teams

guatemala needs to get rid of some players from the " loser era"
    like;

    Juan carlos plata
    Mario acevedo
    julio giron
    ruano
    el gato estrada
never touch these players ever again bollio!!!!!

only player worth touching is Martin Machon who looks like he will be 2010 version of russel latapy, becauase machon can still play and well ,
i like this startin 11 for 2010 qualifying:

    ______________________motta__________________

    Melgar______swisher_______cabrera_______angel sanabria________

    ________________Marvin avila _____Fredy thompson_______________

    Mario rodriguez_________________________________mynor Davila

    ______________Carlos ruiz__________dwight pezzarossi/hernan sandoval

with some backs up consisting of a base of u 23 players and vets

    pando
    jhony brown
    erwin morales
    .................................................

player to watch ; marvin avila from suchitepequez, he just made it to the first team as a starter and he is turning heads, currently got called to the
    u21 NT only 19!!!!!

Guatemala will play USA in a friendly this February

they will use U 21 coach Marvin ivan leon as the tempoary intern coach of guatemala , untill gaute FA finds the permanent DT. it states it in this interview with " el chino" in today prensa

    http://www.prensalibre.com/pl/2005/diciembre/16/130238.html

two teams two coach might be too much for el chino, but its only for a little bit.

i wonder who he will call up??

hope its avila, Davila, and sandoval!!!

    That is great news.

Guatemala should look like this, my opinion of course

    Ricardo Trigueño Foster

Andy Thompson Henry Medina "Canche" Rodriguez Luis Swisher

Freddy Garcia Fredy Thompson "el Picho" Trujillo Marvin Avila

"El Portaviones" Pezzarossi "El Pescadito" Ruiz

    Bench:
Pando, loco, Rivera(from Jalapa) Sandoval, Quiñonez, Villatoro, Nelson Morales, Sumich(?), if he is still playing in Liga Mayor and has become a Guatemalan citizen. There are a few others.

But please no Romero, Giron, Machon, Acevedo, etc.

    for u guys to develop...

Build an all Guatemalan team in your league with youngsters and some good old experience to lead them.

Stop buying old foreighn players cuase that could take up a spot of an up coming star.

    Get a good coach.

those are my 2 cents :D

-We need to have a team made up of just national players, no foreigners like Saprissa
-We need to expand the league from 10 teams to 12 or 13 teams.
    -Stop nacionalizing so many foreginers.
-Have foreign teams sign more Guatemalan Players, which is hard i know.
-Take away the bias that is in composing the national team of players from Cremas and Rojos. There is more talent out there than just those two teams.

I'm sorry to break it to you guys, but Guatemal will never rebuild, you have your hopes based on a player taht couldn't even take his team to the final of teh MLS!!!!! seriously this is one of the worst leagues in the WR.

no anthony, pretty much everyone values my opinion, except guatemaleans, cause they plain suck.

now i'm not trying to be mean at all, if i'm my aplogies, i just like to tell the truth. You know Mexico, USA and CR will continue to dominate concacaf adn to say that CR will no longer be good is an understatement, i've seen their youth players and they are good, Guatemal has no home, and i looks like honduras will have better talent for next qualifiers, so i'm feel deeply sorry for u.

I like your line up and agree with your post. Come next hex, I think Guatemala will be in much better shape, mentally and talent wise. Why wasn't Swisher in this hex? Is it because of el primi?

I think Acevedo has the athleticism but when he is out there, he seriously looks confused and unaware of his position on the field. If he can some how change that, i would like to see him on the bench.

You must be on some cheap mexican crack, bounce your way back to that forum. You are entitled to your opinion but don't debase a federation you know so little about.

toronto papi? what a queer name. And all of a sudden you are an expert on guatemala? I know that they are low life idiots, that had the chance to qualify and hat the t&t game wrapped up and let it go, and the morrons, actually thought that Mexico was going to let the opportunity pass to avenge their betrayal.

you don't no sh1t about guatemalan soccer, and who plays abroad.

and you already bow down to crc like some bitches

they only have one player worth anything and thats balños.

theyre good and i give costa rica and mexico all the credit but don't come and here and act like guatemala have a bunch of 40 yr olds like trinidad

guate only had 4 old players

    plata 33
    acevedo 35
    giron 35
    romero 29

    the rest were under 26
    ruiz 26
    loco rodriguez 23
    davila 22
    sandoval 21
    cabrera 25
    melgar 25
    pezzarossi 25
    thompson 23
    motta 21
    sanabria 20
    martinez 24
    foster 24
    villatoro 24 or 25

most of these guys with the exception ruiz , pezza, and cabrera has never played intl.soccer and held well lin the hex. so except some off them to be back against central amereica younger inexperienced players.

say what? i never said anything about the age, but as long as it depends on mexico, guatemala will never go to the world cup.

well, i certainly liked the Cr team, no other team in the Wc gave Mexico such a hard time, even though the only goal in favor of CR was an auto gol. :D

either way i liked your team specially your goal keeper, he is a good actor, and that's good, look at teh argentinians, they've done pretty good with those tactics.
