    Pathetic.

I missed the first half, was it any better?

Kpene appeared to be the only player making any sort of play.

Stott was relatively miserable as usual.

    Findley is fast.

Our midfield was sent to hospital, by Harris.

If we delete this thread, the pre-match thread, the in-match thread and any other discussion of this game on this board then perhaps we can all just deny this ever happened.

Garbage effort against a garbage team leads to a garbage result.

I know Nolly isn't great, but the defense gave him no help tonight. And the new strategy of playing the ball in the back, then to the corner, to then clear it, so the other team can possess it - that sucks.

This game was pathetic on a number of levels.

    Well that was special.

As good as this team has looked the past two weeks, they looked just as bad tonight.

I'm utterly speechless at the inept performance put out there tonight.

How on Earth can a team with lofty aspirations put up yet another turd like that on the road. Who are we? Toronto FC?

    OH THE HUMANITY!

At least Emilio scored, hopefully he stays hot and we can take out our anger for both losses in the rocky mountains on Colorado thursday.

Some thoughts, aside from what I mentioned in the PBP thread:

    1. Gomez was upset with the team about not paying him MORE money? Really? Clearly being in a 3-5-2 is going to be more beneficial to his game, but he is really underachieving especially when you consider that he's the reigning MVP and in a contract year. His stats aren't pathetic but when you're invisible against RSL, you've got problems.

    2. Definitely didn't like the hack-job that DC turned into. Fred's cleat to Ballouci's face definitely wasn't intentional but there's a big difference from being physical to trying to play hockey which it looked like DC was doing for awhile.

    3. There is noone I detest more in any sport than Jamie Watson. He is a classless prick.

    4. I think that's the first time I've ever seen Eddie Pope go screaming at an official.

    5. Fred was okay, Emilio was also nonexistant for most of the match and Gomez was nowhere to be found.

    6. Kpene is very raw and unpolished, but he sure makes a difference when he's on the field. I hope he keeps getting time over Dyachenko if tonight's performance is any indication of what he can do. I thought he was going to put away the chance at the end to tie it up, but overall he definitely made a positive impact.

Where was the back line? Where was the marking. Trolls notwithstanding, they marked up pretty well.

    Man, that sucked.

RSL isn't as bad as their record has indicated and this looked to be more of a trap game than did LA a few weeks ago. DC came out flat and never seemed able to adjust to the turf. From what I've seen of RSL this season, that turf has made them look pretty incompetent at times, too. It's just an abomination of a field. Once RSL went up by two goals, they bunkered and DC wasn't able to do much.

It was painful to see one man getting beat cause the entire backline to fail on two occasions. Not a good sign to see Dyachenko subbed out in the first half not from injury. I'm sure that will send a message. Gomez had is weakest performance in weeks. He should at least have been able to make a couple of his free kicks dangerous, although on one of them Emilio was either hacked down or fell in the box.

Oh, yea. Max Bretos is the worst announcer ever.

Hey Einstein, it's won, not one.

Sod off and enjoy your one win on the season. And yes, I'm so sure Kipre is miles better than Namoff.

Of course there is the ever present chance that Jason Kreis and John Ellinger combined to break more MLS rules than they already have in the last two weeks and Salt Lake will have to forfeit as a result, right?

The sky is falling. .nheoS eriF Perkins now. We need Moreno. Bench Gomez. Where's our DP? We have no speed on defense. We need a shirt sponsor and a new stadium.

Now that that's out of the way, that game sucked. Findley beat us with speed and made us pay. Our slow backline can't play that high up and risk a counter by somebody as fast as Findley. Rimando had a pretty good game and his distribution was great. DC did not respect RSL and it showed. Nolly instead of Perkins highlighted that lack of respect although I do not think that would have made any difference. Instead of walking around looking frustrated, I wish Gomez would at least try to take over the game in some way. His free kicks were pretty bad. We didn't have much possession, didn't string many passes together, didn't communicate well, didn't make runs, didn't win anything in the midfield, and didn't score goals against a weak team.
