Agree. He just has to keep his hands clean in the cesspool of nj politics. Although not sure the city level is as bad as the state level..???

A mayor of Newark who isn't corrupt would be an anomaly.

As I mentioned elsewhere, at this point Corey Booker seems so scary good... (and that's bordering on perfect for a politician...) that if I broke into his house and looked in his basement, I'm almost sure I'd find either a half dozen dead hookers or the frickin' Batcave.

A payoff or political bargain, more likely. An addendum to a contact screws Newark's taxpayers out of millions. I also can't believe that The Rock hasn't been reimbursing the city for the massive police presence outside the arena since it opened, almost $10 Million. The MLS team across the river in Harrison pays Newark for off-duty officers performing traffic duties in Newark during game days.

I remember seeing a surcharge on my Devils tix that's supposed to pay for the extra police.

Well, if you are dumb enough to go to be a Devils fan, you deserve to be shaken down for extra police money.

Won with the ugliest style of hockey one could imagine. Thank god they changed the rules to eliminate the neutral zone trap and that f'd up system.

Easy, Ranger fan. You might even get a conference finals this year...if you're lucky.

And the league created the asinine trapezoid behind the net to limit the puck-handling skills of goalies like Brodeur. It's akin to banning the slapshot because one guy scores too much.

    wow, are those 2 annoying.

...back to the Devils for a second. No one complained about the Montreal teams of the 70's playing "the trap" and winning championships. I don't understand why it was a problem when the Devils did it. They were able to keep the puck in the opponents end of the ice and dominate. Should they have to apologize for playing good team defense? And when they were on the top of their game, they scored plenty of goals.

because all of 6 games per season were broadcast on TV in the 1970's.
