Agree. He just has to keep his hands clean in the cesspool of nj politics. Although not sure the city level is as bad as the state level..???
As I mentioned elsewhere, at this point Corey Booker seems so scary good... (and that's bordering on perfect for a politician...) that if I broke into his house and looked in his basement, I'm almost sure I'd find either a half dozen dead hookers or the frickin' Batcave.
Trenton: 33% fewer police, 44% more crime: http://www.trentonian.com/article/20120413/NEWS02/120419853/data-trenton-crime-increases-44-percent
Still, not everyone loves him: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/04/nj_devils_owner_says_booker_br.html
A payoff or political bargain, more likely. An addendum to a contact screws Newark's taxpayers out of millions. I also can't believe that The Rock hasn't been reimbursing the city for the massive police presence outside the arena since it opened, almost $10 Million. The MLS team across the river in Harrison pays Newark for off-duty officers performing traffic duties in Newark during game days.
Ian Eagle, broadcaster for the Nets, verbally smacksdown his partner Mike Fratello. Pretty weird: http://deadspin.com/5902104/ian-eag...es-partner-mike-fratello-of-being-patronizing
Well, if you are dumb enough to go to be a Devils fan, you deserve to be shaken down for extra police money.
Won with the ugliest style of hockey one could imagine. Thank god they changed the rules to eliminate the neutral zone trap and that f'd up system.
Easy, Ranger fan. You might even get a conference finals this year...if you're lucky. And the league created the asinine trapezoid behind the net to limit the puck-handling skills of goalies like Brodeur. It's akin to banning the slapshot because one guy scores too much.
meh...strike shortened seasoned...the two in a row in 97/98 made up for it I would rather lose playing beautiful then win playing ugly ANYYYYYWHOOOOO Booker took a dump in a field and daisies grew up from it immediately
NJ State Troopers caught escorting exotic car drivers down the Parkway in 2010. Just did it again this year. (NSFW - Video contains foul language) http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/04/video_shows_nj_state_police_le.html
wow, are those 2 annoying. ...back to the Devils for a second. No one complained about the Montreal teams of the 70's playing "the trap" and winning championships. I don't understand why it was a problem when the Devils did it. They were able to keep the puck in the opponents end of the ice and dominate. Should they have to apologize for playing good team defense? And when they were on the top of their game, they scored plenty of goals.
