I saw the whole match. It was typical ugly Madrid football, but 3 points is what it got us. Osasuna did not deserve to win. So the result was fair.
Typical ugly? More like typical forced. You're a RM fan, and that's all you need to say, there is no point in arguing. Its damn pathetic that RM has to resort to such tactics to beat bottom tabled teams.
Real fouled a guy twice in the penalty area. Usually that would be 2 penalties, but instead, the poor bugger got 2 yellow cards for dives! The second supposed dive was when Real were leading 2-1 and when he got sent off, and the traffic became one way. 3rd goal went in. Real played a terrible game and even the goals they scored, at least 2 were entirely down to terrible individual play by Osasuna.
Nekounam to the rescue today, handing Osasuna a much needed 3 points... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvz8uEWw9ck"]YouTube - Goal Of Javad Nekounam VS. Espaniol Week 262208-2009[/ame]
For the first time in weeks, Nekounam played quite well for Osasuna. He has hardly been himself lately, and it was certainly nice to see him play with skill and intelligence. Even if he hadn't scored the vital goal today, he still would have been one of Osasuna's best players in the match. On another note, Masoud entered the match around the 65th minute and played pretty well. He made a couple of very nice passes and dribbled a few players. His best play was in the middle of the pitch when he (uncharacteristically) stopped for a second, turned a bit and shifted the momentum of the play with his wise change of direction. It's moments like that which demonstrate true game-smarts, and it's not often we see Masoud display such poise and class. These were great performances in anticipation of the Saudi Arabia match next weekend. With the good form of our Osasuna stars, I expect great things in Azadi next week .
