According to ESPN we do not play Vene at all. Honduras plays Vene on the 10th. They have us scheduled to play La H on the 7th.

I just hopa FIFA don't suspend El Salvador but rather the people involved. The people found guilty better be punished for tarnishing our reputation. I just hope the rest of us don't have to suffer from a ban.

Sunday morning there will be an official announcement made as to whom we will play August 10th. Cameroon might not be our opponents that day.

He thinks we aren't a tough enough opponent he wanted a European side. He also thinks the travel demands are to much for his players. The comments people made about the article also say he didn't like that it was scheduled last minute and the disorganization of the fed in scheduling friendlies. So this could be part of the ongoing pissing match he is having with his fed about their lack of organization.

Some of the other comments made about the article give a hint about how little Cameroon's fans know about us yet there is an attitude of us not being tough enough to face them. One of the comments says we aren't good enough to play them because we don't qualify for the Copa America:rolleyes:

I guess a few key points Ruben Israel talked about today:

    • Wants an opponent for August 10, but does not want it to be a team from CONCACAF
    • Joe Corona has El Salvador last on his list of desired national teams to play for (behind Mexico and USA)
    • Gerson Mayen and Dustin Corea are not in his plans as of this moment
    • Cristian Esnal and Paolo Suarez may be called up (side note, both have Uruguayan blood)
    • Happy for Zelaya's departure abroad
    • Satisfied with the way the Gold Cup went
    • U-23 begins work August 1st and wants 4 friendlies for the U-23
    • If/When proof comes out of players selling themselves, Israel may leave.
    • Call up list will be available after first round of the Apertura. New names may be called up

    This breaks my heart.
The man's resolve is clear. He definitely will leave at the smallest of evidences. And even if they try to cover up anything, him leaving, will give us a clue that they did find proof.
I honestly hope RI stays, he was brought to our football as we say it "de puro chiripon" and he was exactly what we needed. It would be a shame (and a deserved punisment) to our football if he leaves under such disgraceful circumstances

Ok this drives me nuts, becasue Aguilucho says it all the time. As the Southerner from Texas to many, there's no such thing as so and so blood. It drives me bananas to read that. HERITAGE, ROOTS, NATIONALITY. not blood. My roots and background are Salvadoran, my blood isnt. Its Type O. And Im not calling you out Guanaco, its just a peeve of mine to read.

I said this two years ago regarding the kits. Even if Mitre offered more money, it would have been wise to try and sell the brand of the team to a Puma contract and beg them to do it. It has nothing to do with piracy in the country, please. If that were the case, African, Asian, and other Latino countries wouldnt get the deals from other brands. The Federation took who they would profit from the most, which sounds like somthing they would do, instead of trying to market the team and take less money in order to sell more merchandise. I know this was a big thing with some college teams. I think you get more profits from the licensing of merchandise than the actual sales. Im the sure the federation was not willing to bite the bullet reagrding the branding and marketing of the national team.

Its sad that I see more Dominican jerseys and baseball caps from MLB, and not a lick of Salvadoran soccer merchandise. And we're the 4th largest Latino group. Our federation should focusing on marketing, I mean it really is ridiclous that such a large subset of the Latino market gets overlooked. But growing up Salvi, I guess Im used to it.
