What's the deal with games being held on weekdays? And that weekday being the hardest of all to get something done on. :(

After seeing official news with regards to our schedule, I am assuming that Mexico will play Peru either in Mexico or in South America prior to Copa America.

all but one of the dates are fechas fifa. I am curious who put their foot down to not schedule any extra matches like they have in years past. Was it the team owners, was it Hugo? They may not play as much, but the quality of games will better because Hugo will have the full complement of players available to him.

Something strange is going on... the femexfut is making sound decisions, and seem to be directed by what is best for the team instead of what is best for the bottom line. Methinks this is a step in the right direction.

    6 matches seems okay...

some years ago, we would play up to 12-13 times in the US

Well you do have 2 cups this year so that is a minimum of 6 more games right there.

True, but I am referring to the dirth of unnecessary friendlies Mexico plays year after year. Most of them were not on a fecha fifa, so it would be hard to schedule a quality opponent with quality players. The fact that they will be playing on mainly fechas fifa would ensure that mexico can field its best players and expect the same from its opponent. I remember mexico played "sweden" last year. They may have been swedes playing mexico, but they sure weren't the swedes that played in germany.

But when Mexico scheduled ghana on the fecha fifa, we got the ghana that played in germany.

I hear you but I think the reason that they aren't playing 13 games in the states this year is because of the 2 cups. Let's see what the schedule looks like for 2008.

Next year it will be back to business as usual. I doubt these guys are doing it thinking of the players or the team. Greedy bastards they are.
