I always thought of Muscat as a player that played on the edge. It's how he competed at the highest level for so long and how he wrung the most out of his ability. People forget that he is a very talented player in his own right. Something which gets overlooked because of a history of unsavoury incidents. He deserves his fair ammount of criticism for these no doubt and I'm not making apologies for him. But he has achieved alot in his football career both at club and national level. I think it's important to look at the good and the bad instead of being so sensational.

Aside from that...I think the Big V clinched themselves a playoff spot.

The bad is what he is going to be remembered by. While I agree he has had a good career and did a fair bit for the Socceroos I still think he shouldn't ever play again. He's ended a career before and couldn't have been too far off ending Zahra's before it had hardly begun.

I agree. I thought last year should have been his last. Hard to seperate that Merrick Muscat team. Could be interesting next year though!

I was just trying to provide some counter balance to the arguments in here. Muscat has crossed the line more than he should have in his career but I still think it is a career that deserves some respect.

Apparently, they're comparing him to Martin Harnik and Thomas Muller and he apparently also has some interest from first division teams (probably a Monchengladbach or the like). Would be interesting to see if anything more comes out of this.

Not really. Second division, very tiny chance to get promotion this season. They've been in the Bundesliga, but that was over a decade ago and they haven't won anything (significant) in over 20 years. They're fairly well known in Germany, though (being the only team in Dusseldorf). Have a pretty nice and popular stadium, too.

Maybe $10-30,000 more than what he earns now. But why would that matter?

Oh right, sounds good for robbie, how much better is the standard of the second league there compared to ALeague.

    Money always matters dude.

would you rather he'd come to Adelaide? Serious question, it was mooted in the local media very obliquely in the lead up to the last cross border game:)

Thats like asking if i'd like a punch in my left eye or a punch in my right. Neither option is very appealing :p

Meh the HS have their agenda, nothing new there. They'll always find something.

Should be some heat in the next derby for sure. Looking forward to it :)

A like for like signing; they get to play another winger out of position.

Of course the Hun have their agenda, Blind Freddy could see that...but it would be so much easier to discredit the Hun and their hysterical reporting of OMG Sokkkah riotzz!! if certain elements of Victory's fanbase would grow the f**k up and lose their delusions of being an extra in Green Street Hooligans/ID. Not saying VicPol/Stadium security/Hatamotto is blameless, but MV fans have to accept some portion of the blame for the reporting of the Hun even if that % is 5% let me put it in tard speak:

If you know the Hun is out to get you(and lets be honest, they most likely are. To appeal to and sell more papers to their brain-dead readerships expectations of Sokkah and of course the lordships and masters at AFLHQ), why make it easy for the Hun by living down to their expectations?

Eh, I think Rojas could well surprise people playing behind the strikers, especially in the MV pseudo 3-4-3.
