Bae Chun Suk is having a medical test with J-league's Vissel Kobe.
He has a physicality that could have been well used in K-league....had it not been for K-league draft getting in the way.
You cant really blame him for wanting to move to a pro club, rather than staying in Univeristy league.

Ok, my mistake. Bae Chun Suk was actually on loan to Seungshil Uni from Pohang Steelers. My bad.
He is going to Vissel Kobe on a 6months loan which seems pretty good.

Good player yes. But i think he can develop into an awesome player. Apparently he has been one of the better players in the U-league, enough to warrant him a nickname "The second Hwang Sun Hong" (probably because he has good connections with Pohang as well). He's tall (185cm) and young (21yo) and knows how to use his head well - a target striker to be precise.

The questions remains can he adapt to new environment (though he is only going on a loan). He'll probably be used as a sub, and if he makes good impact then Vissel Kobe can loan him again because it would be way better that he gets playing time at a higher league than an University league.

EDIT: Just read that Pohang Steelers want to use him next season.

No. TBH, I think he's terrible. Good in the air, but that's about it. Imo, he can't play lone striker yet either.

I agree. A player who's supposed to be a true #9, but is far from being consolidated. Two headed goals in a U-23 friendly aren't enough to convince anyone that he's a legitimate aerial threat either.

Thanks. I'll be observing Vissel Kobe for various tasks and I shall see.
Club football is different from the NT so he might be better, Kobe badly need a striker and he won't have too much trouble finding playing time if he's at least decent.

    Article from last month

Regarding a breakthrough to the first team, he said, "You can never know in football. Opportunities fall in place when you least expect it, but the opposite can happen, too. I will do my best."

Doesn't sound so hopeful... He also said he's thankful for having the opportunity to play in the friendly against China in the spring even though he didn't play in the June qualifiers, so maybe he's just being modest.

Well he's like 19 years old, so its only natural. He's not good enough to start probably and again, that's expected. Youngsters like him should be slowly introduced to the 1st team. He has plenty of time anyways.

How old is he? Its hard to judge how badly he was schooled given that he was facing off against first teamers.

If im right, he is about 17 years of age now. He is a striker that played in nearly all youth KNT levels (i.e. u-13, u-14, u-16, etc). Like most of all young prospects of Korean football at the moment, he went to Gwangyang Jecheol school(s) and was in Chunnam Dragon's youth team. Until he left for Wolfsburg in 2010.

He hasnt signed a pro contract with Wolfsburg yet because he is in the U-17 Wolfsburg side. Slowly building himself in Germany, like how Son Heung Min did with Hamburg.

In that case he looked good because his defense was his worst part as was hit fitness it seemed.

You forgot to quote the bit where I wrote atm (at the moment). Some of the names that have been to Gwangyang Jecheol schools and the Chunnam Dragons youth system are prospects for our Korean at the moment (and have lived up to the prospect anticpation). E.g. Lee Jong Ho, Ji Dong Won, Yoon Suk Young, Hwang Do Yeon, Kim Young Wook, and so on.
The Gwangyang Jecheol Highschool winning the national highschool championships recently shows you how strong the Chunnam's youth system are right now. Plus, they won the thing two years ago with some of the names I mentioned playing.
There was no conclusion in what I wrote.
