He was injured for 6 months.

You guys need to buy David Ospina. He's 23 years young, a amazing goalkeeper, and you need a good goalkeeper.

before he was sent over?, I don't remember reading that

Julio Cesar is 32, still a working age for goalkeepers and I don't expect him to leave it would be very surprising if he did, Ive never heard of this young goalkeeper nevertheless we own half the rights to Viviano and have a hand in several youth keepers

dude its what depression does, as stated before he was depressed after being knocked out in the WC(it was really the last definite chance for him)
coming off his most fantastic season winning it all but alas the WC alluded him
never has been the same since, can he go back to being a beast? maybe but from my point of view the club, owner, staff and players are going to struggle for another season while changes are made

He has had poor performance this season and tho the age doesn't matter the fact that he got sent of last game might.

Sell him back to brazil and bring in a new goalie. He's another Adriano or Kaka or Ronaldinho.

Re: Spending on a Budget, the Winter Transfers & Rumors

he had a poor performance last season as well, he's been sent off already this season in a coppa game not to mention that in this game he had to pay up for how high the defense was playing and exposed, he is at fault for fouling and getting red carded though

He's not another Adriano, who even though had a similar situation with depression and weight problems, JC for inter means a lot more plus moratti won't take a loss with him going to some S.A club for cheap, rather keep him and lower his salary to make him a back up
Kaka was all about money, for milan fans he meant a lot and probably to the club hence why they accepted that much money
ronaldinho was fading and didn't play well in milan he was expendable but not cheap for what milan payed barca

Man, it has been a turbulent season this... First everything under Gasperini, then Ranieri comes in and we win 6 or 7 games on the trot getting kind of back to the old Inter... getting to the final 16 of the Champions League... and then we immediately struggle, and are unable to beat a horrible Marseille side, and can't win a single game in the Serie A. I can only hope that our management has a plan because things aren't looking the best. The only way I see us coming out of all of this is to heavily invest in youth, which we are already doing, and get some of the veteran players out of Inter, as sad as it is to say. Most of them are past their prime, and aren't even at a level right below it. They have fallen off sharply this season and I hope Morratti will start decreasing the wage bill, because that is what we must do. Period.

As of now I see this as the solution... I would get rid of the following players:

    1. Christian Chivu (age, performances)
    2. Dejan Stankovic (age)
    3. Ivan Cordoba (retirement)
    4. Diego Forlan (does not fit our systems, pace)
    5. Wesley Sneijder (mostly due to his motivation levels)
    6. Lucio (age)
    7. Mauro Zarate (fitness levels, moments)
    8. Angelo Palombo

Due to the financial fair play rules, we are significantly limited in the amount of money we can spend, especially considering our debt as well. All of the players that I mention should leave because of their age and inability to play at the level as required by Inter. The only one that might surprise most people is Sneijder. I have included him on the list because due to the financial fair play rules the only way we can start to rebuild the squad is if we sell some large name. Out of the veterans listed, none of them will fetch a large transfer fee, which means we can't spend much even if we wanted to. Zarate is in there as I don't think he has shown enough on loan to demand a permanent move. He has also shown flashes, but not enough. The only thing that could save him is a pre-season where he gets into top form. Ever since coming you could see that he wasn't near his match fit best from Lazio. The first month and a half was spent catching up on his fitness levels. That aside...

While Sneijder is one of our prized possessions, I feel like he is ready to leave mentally. Everything that has been said in the media seems that he is already gone... you also add the last two years where Wesley has shown glimmers but due to injuries has never been able to regain some proper form. He is only getting older, and I feel like if Manchester United come in with an offer of 30-40 million pounds, I would say sell him, as hard as it is. We can't base our attack off of one attacking midfielder and expect to be successful, because only Mourinho could do that, and all coaches after him have failed.

We must add youth and look towards the future, players that are close to breaking out, or players that have performed really well already at a smaller club. After the departures I mention the picture would look like this:

    GOALKEEPERS:
    1. Julio Cesar
    2. Luca Castelazzi
    3. Emiliano Viviano

    DEFENDERS:
    Right Full Back:
    4. Maicon
    5. Jonathan

    Left Full Back:
    6. Javier Zanetti
    7. Yuta Nagatomo

    Centre Back:
    8. Walter Samuel
    9. Andrea Ranocchia
    10. Juan Jesus
    11. NEW PLAYER

    Utility:
    12. Mateo Davide Faraoni

    MIDFIELDERS:
    Defensive Central:
    13. Esteban Cambiasso
    14. NEW PLAYER
    15. Lorenzo Crisetig

    Attacking:
    16. Freddy Guarin
    17. Ricardo Alvarez
    18. Joel Obi

    Box to Box
    19. Andrea Poli
    20. NEW PLAYER

    FORWARDS:

    21. Giampaolo Pazzini
    22. Diego Milito
    23. Luc Castaignos
    24. NEW PLAYER

    Conclusion: We need a new spine. The wealth of youth talent is very good. Obi, Guarin, Crisetig, Juan, Faraoni, Jonathan, Ranocchia, Poli, Alvarez, Castaignos... but we need a new spine of players to mold these youngsters into the future. As I suggest we need one central back (preferably a quicker one...in his mid 20's that can play alongside Samuel until Ranocchia steps up to be consistent enough to start. We also need a new creative midfielder following the departure of Sneijder, and a new striker following the exits of Eto'o, Forlan, and Zarate. These are some of my more favoured players;

    Central Defense:

    1. Jan Vertonghen
    2. Javi Martinez (Bielsa has molded him into a defender, used to be a defensive midifielder; he could be the ball playing defender alongside Ranocchia)
    3. Neven Subotic

    Midfield:

    1. Christian Eriksen
    2. Eden Hazard
    3. Yann M'Vila
    4. Sebastian Giovinco
    5. Mathieu Valbuena

    Forward:

    1. Fernando Llorente
    2. Robin Van Persie (a dream obviously)
    3. Mario Balotelli (rumoured to be out of City - maybe the former youth coach knows him best?)
    4. Stevan Jovetic
    5. Olivier Giroud

The only problem is all of the players I just mentioned have their own fees somewhere close to Sneijder. If we got lucky we could get two of them for selling Sneijder which is still not enough.

I will post later about a couple of players which are a bit underrated and could potentially fit the the bill.

    long time no see bro
the list of players seeming to go out is about right but I would say dejan is going to stick around for another season also this coach likes zarate so that may or may not develop into us buying him then again 20mill for what he has shown is not acceptable imo

Angeloni the new head scout from Udi seems to already be working on who will be going out, the club wants to change and is changing the system of player acquisition towards what you were mentioning so its going to be an interesting summer for us

as for the players coming in, coutinho should be part of that creative force in mind, Ive followed him to espanyol and have seen his confidence and talent shine bright
Im sure the club and strammaccioni want him in the plans

One thing that will probably come up is the forwards issue, the 3 attackers that will most likely remain all play the same CF role with maybe castaignos being able to play the support striker role, Im very interested to see what type of striker will come in
so far in the primavera we have livaja a winger/SS who is getting quite the amount of experience and longo another CF pazzo style

we sold balo for around 21 mill so I wouldn't accept him for anything higher but its just rumors and when balo left stramaccioni came in so they don't know each other besides that interruption he made during his presentation :D

we haven't been linked with anyone for LB and the club seems happy sticking with nagatomo, him leaving has not been mentioned at all this season
    are there better LBs, yeah
are we going to buy any of them, probably not since there are other more pressing positions to fix

He is good.. no doubt, but is he an Inter caliber player?

The current Inter squad reminds me of Liverpool a bit a la 2002... all solid players, but great? Only a couple are anymore...

They were great but age has caught up with us.

We're going to buy him for sure, he wants to stay, the club wants him to stay and samp needs ze money: everyone wins

depends what you mean by great
for me is the players who consistently perform at a high level meaning only one remains which funny enough is the oldest

JC, Lucio, Maicon, Samuel, Cordoba, Dejan, Cambiasso, Milito, Forlan have had ups and downs and for most of the them more downs than ups

Nagatomo is 25 which his one of the reasons he will most likely stay, that and he didn't cost an arm and a leg

well udinese saw something in him and he can also play higher up on the left but like you said he has been rumored with other clubs and not ours mostly because the club is more concerned with other positions and is planning to go ahead with nagatomo, zanetti, faraoni(?)

No I agree Samora... I don't think he will leave as he is young relatively speaking, and he can only get better, and he has been one of the more consistent performers at Inter this year. Remember vs CSKA away?

All I was saying it's the current state of things, and as you point out, there are other areas we need to address much more (e.g. a ball playing center back, an energetic attacking midfielder, and a striker).

ah ok for a second I thought you wanted him to leave but like always interpretation plays its part
I agree he can improve(hopefully more defensively) since we can see what he can do when the coach wants him to attack

It seems like Forlan is on his way out... he tried hard, but it was visible that his age has caught up with him.

    So far I have:

Cordoba, Forlan, Orlandoni, Palombo. Let's hope Lucio leaves as we need to start bringing/training in Juan and Ranocchia. Samuel can play 1 more season, as can Cambiasso and Maicon.

I hope Stankovic comes back to my Red Star Belgrade, or retires and becomes a coach. There were rumors in the Serbian media that Stankovic might become Sinisha Mihajlovic's (the former Fiorentina, Catania, and Bologna coach) and former Inter player, right hand man for the Serbian national team set up, as a coach. Stankovic and Mihajlovic are good friends from their time spent together with SS Lazio and Inter.

I heard rumors for stankovic to mls, of coarse they were just rumors and he also didn't know about it and even made of statement; I'll leave when the club no longer needs me or something along those lines
funny how some milan players are leaving as well, end of an era
