First round of the championship which starts on July 23:

    1. HAJDUK – OSIJEK
    2. ZAGREB – SLAVEN BELUPO
    3. KAMEN INGRAD – VARTEKS
    4. MEĐIMURJE – INTER-ZAPREŠIĆ
    5. PULA STARO ČEŠKO – RIJEKA
    6. CIBALIA – DINAMO

The biggest Croatian derby Dinamo-Hajduk is in the seventh round.

Slaven Belupo won their first match in Intertoto, 1-0 against Drava.
Varteks lost at Albanian team Dinamo, 2-1.

Dinamo will probably sign bolivian attacking midfielder Diego Cabrera (22) in a deal with Udinese who'll have the rights on him 'cause he has no european experience and he's from non-EU country so at the moment it's not Udinese first choice. I hope he is good and will make big impact in Dinamo squad.

We could do with an [R] tag on this.

Let's hope Zenit or Il Divino is reading this....

I'll risk my reputation and ask what does that tag mean?

Dinamo also brought Chago, a Cameroonian who played 20 times for their U-21 squad. I personally don't like that because Dinamo has a lot of young talented players of their own. But it seems they want to win the championship, no matter the price.

Hajduk employed Ćiro Blažević as coach, I'm afraid they are the biggest favorites.

Generally speaking, we don't really need one. The [R] indicates that we will post results in the thread.

However, given that many people won't be taping some HNL games or watching them on a delayed basis, I doubt it will effect any of the American posters....

Its more of a thing you have to do, to avoid people getting pissed off.

In hindsight, maybe its not that important....

    Ajmo Dinamo! Nema Predaje!!!

Hajduk isn't seeded in the second round of the CL qualifiers, and has Liverpool nad UEFA to thank for that.
Some of the possible opponetns are: Liverpool, Celtic, Dynamo Kyiv, I think Valerenga would be the easiest.

If I was a mod in here, I'd change the tite to put in the [R], but since I'm not......

Anyway, it's times like these where I wish my Croatian was MUCH better!

Igor Biscan will leave Liverpool at the end of the season and his most probable new destination is Besiktas.
His national team status remains unchanged, although he said he would like to play for NT again. But I doubt it will happen during Markovic's mandate as president of the national federation.

Unfortunately because of the sun, I didn't get down to your side of the field - much to my chagrin. I really wanted to hear your shouts :D I'll make sure to seek you out next game.

Will the format be the same as last season?

First stage - 12 teams, 22 matches. Then split into a top and bottom group of 6 team, 10 matches.

What do you guys think of this format?

This is probably the closest the MetroStars will ever get to signing a Croatian. :D

    Yes, it will.

I'm for 10 clubs, 36 rounds, no spliting into groups... This format may come alive in season 06/07.

Hajduk will play Debrecen in the Seocnd round of CL qualifications. Nice draw for them, they could have done much worse.

Both Slaven Belupo and Varteks have gone through to the Second round of the Intertoto Cup.

Slaven beat Ptuj 1-0, just like in the first match.
Varteks beat Dinamo Tirana 4-1, although they were down at one point. Leon Benko was the hero, scoring all the goals for Varteks.

Good job for the north Croatian clubs.

Slaven beat Gloria 3-2 in the first leg of the second round of the Intertoto cup.
Not a very promising result before the second leg.

Varteks are down 2-1 to Turku at half-time.

Silvio Marić returns to Dinamo! The clubs legend is back for the second time and will try to help Dinamo to reconquer the throne.

The press is also talking about Igor Bišćan coming back, but this sounds a bit unrealistic.
