Propz to Hoyos big time here!!! Maybe quinteros can learn something from Hoyos. I hope Bolivar can keep that style and rhythm in every game.

PS> I am not going to say anything about Flores and Adon... I hope they can improve tho...

Abdon didnt fit in that system. His fitness is still nothing compared to everyone else.

Flores needs to chill out. He is playing like Nacho was.

He was playing his position of playmake breaker. Ugly but necessary.
I really like how Edelmir was playing more like a carrilero...he had Hoyos signature all over.
During the game the announcers also mentioned that Hoyos worked in the divisiones inferiores an is considered responsible for much of the development of young players at Barcelona, including Messi, Fabregas, Piquet, Xavi, Iniesta (they listed all by name). Very cool to find out.

Hoyos has the credentials and a system, I just hope the cholis don not ******** it up!!!
Bolivar needs a cantera that will produce players with speed, skills, and endurance. I believe Hoyos is working well with the cantera.

Flores is all lungs and garra... no technique there, Flores and Adon and some old timers do not fit into that new system unfortunately. you can see younger players (cantera) they have ball control with dribbling skills...
Hoyos is doing the right thing, Bolivar is on the right path. I wish Hoyos the best for Bolivar and Bolivian soccer.

I just wanna put it out there that some credit must be given to Oscar Villegas the DT of Bolivar's cantera, since he got there Bolivar is been wining tourney's everywhere and in every division. I know some of you don't like him, but he's doing a fine job at Bolvar developing players like Siquita, and Suarez (who has 3 goals in the first 2 Bolivar's game in La Liga).

Honestly, the competition they play can be down right pathetic, if the other teams even show up (which can be a crap shoot)

It's a shame because Villegas is good with bringing up youngsters, terrible game coach though IMO, but the level of competition is not at a level that helps in that growth.

The last thing Villegas, players, or fans should be holding unto is winning youth tournaments *cough* Tahuichi *cough* The real barometer for success should be how many competent professionals are developed that contribute significantly to the first team, not meaningless trophies.

Speaking of which, any cholis fans want to enlighten me on what happened to Jhon Carinao. Seems he's the only youngster that got some pub and played at the Dallas cup (quite well by all accounts) that has fallen off the map. Justiniano, Quinonez, Suarez and Siquita have all seen first team minutes this season.

Here's his sick gol against Arsenal at the Dallas cup.

Interesting goal.... but looks to be a deflection goal.

Either way, I wonder what did happen to him? He was representing bolivia well coming off the bench at I forget what level that was, but he was doing awesome vs. Neymar and kids.

it was u-20. and he's still in the Bolivar first team, the website also shows that.

But this is a good point, its weird that he hasn't gotten any playing time with the first team(been playing with the reserves).

After that killer loss to UEspanola we come back and pull off a shocker. Man, we live and die with that high line. But the defense was def improved. Eff it, in second place with 4 pts. Now if we could only make us of our home court advantage.

Having both Walter Flores and Scaglia really make a HUGE difference. They both have that 'grit' and showed how different we are wtih them compared to not. With a high pressuring team like us, we need 'bruisers' in the middle like them both.... without them, we lose like we did vs. UE.

Has anyone else heard about the futbol reality show that bolivar is organizing?!
The search starts in the next few weeks and the show will air in June on national Bolivian tv. The winner will win a one year contract with bolivar, the show will be called "de hincha a campeon".

LOL I'd watch it. In the end, they'll pull what Sueno MLS did, end up cheating older guys out of contracts by signing the less talented youngsters to their 'academy' teams. :p

Happened to my one buddy for DCU. Instead, he is a amateur star in the local leagues around here.

Regarding Jhon Carinao. I got curious as to why he wasn't on the 1st team on the website and as to why he wasn't getting any playing time. Apparently he left Bolivar in february to sign for Garcia Agreda of Tarija(nacional b). I don't know why he left as he was sure to get some playing time this season. ohh well, hopefully he didn't just dump his career out the window.

Holy double face palm batman, talk about unexpected. There's no way this was his choice, bolivar had to have let him go right? or maybe his agent. I don't think any kid would purposefully leave a first division team who is playing in Libertadores and giving playing time to youth players to go to a team no one has ever heard of. Maybe money? either way it's unfortunate. He showed some real potential, probably never to be heard of again.

I heard that Hoyos is really 'on' the youth, and expects ALOT out of them... what he would see out of the kids from the Cantera from Barca.

Maybe Carinao was rubbed the wrong way because of this?

Who knows.. either way... I hope the kid finds his way back to the top of bolivian soccer. Showed alot of promise.

Good luck tonight Bolivar, I'll be pulling for you guys. If they win tonight the next stage gets a bit closer. I personally want to see Rudy Cardozo show his skill and hopefully score. I want this kid in Europe after this Libertadores, I also think edemir might go to a better league the way he's killing it.

For me, Cardozo still has ALOOOOT to work on. At moments he can be just BRILLIANT... but others... he just fades and doesn't show up. Consistency is key. I'd like to see him first still in south america, either in Brasil or Argentina. After that... who knows.

Edemir I think has the right skills for his position to do good in europe.... but his skills still leave some to be desired. What he lacks in skills, he makes up through speed, tackling, and fitness.

I agree with you there fuego. Cardozo is quality but they can't just be making the huge jumps and then most likely end up coming back anyway. Cardozo needs to go to a better south american league first, and prove himself there first. I also think that Edemir could go to a better league, but then again so could Campos and Arce but we'll see. Nothing is ever that good or easy for Bolivians.
