Chivas100 had the great suggestion to start a Chivas abroad thread. With Salcido, Vela, Bravo, and Maza in Europe (and Claudio Suarez on CUSA ), it makes great sense. VS offered to sticky and monitor it for trolls. Have at it.
Maza at PSV Eindhoven Omar Bravo at Deportivo de la Coruna Carlos Salcido at PSV Eindhoven Bofo at Jaguares Oswaldo at Santos Laguna Carlos Vela at Arsenal Claudio Suarez at Chivas USA These are just some of the main ones. Anyone can add some if they like.
So this thread is also for non-fuerzas basicas but definetly representative players of our team? Outside of Mexico (abroad) or also the ones that are in other clubs in Mexico? But for now, here's another: Panchito Mendoza at Chivas USA
hmmm is bofo and and oswaldo consider chivas abroad since their not from our cantera either way great thread
Alejandro Vela is now with Cruz Azul. He would have been a great replacement for Ramon had he come back. http://www.oem.com.mx/esto/notas/n737876.htm
I almost posted this, but couldn't remember if we wanted the thread for just players out of Mexico, or for other ex-chivas in Mexico (bofo, vela, etc.). So now Cruz Azul can start a lineup with both Vela and Sabah. Nice!!
i thought chivas abroad players were the ones who came out of la cantera i.e. carlos vela, alejandro vela, omar, maza, salcido, etc.
You had the original idea, right? I'm comfortable with primarily canteranos playing abroad or in Mexico, plus the occasional player who others associate with Chivas (Bofo, Ramon if he were to leave, etc.) In any case, we probably won't be posting much on players we're not interested in.
Let's not forget about Omar Arellano, Sr., currently an assistant coach with Aguirre. http://www2.informador.com.mx/deportes/2008/20061/1/omar-arellano-un-mexicano-privilegiado.htm
I think he went over last year or in January. He used to coach either Chivas San Rafael or the other 2nd division team.
I remember reading he left around that time too. I don't know about Alejandro taking over Moncho's spot. His original position was delantero, but he got switched to play out wide. And there he excelled with Jaguares once Bofo had joined the team. I didn't watch Alex play this past season, but I don't think he'd be a good fit as a dmid or lateral on the left that moncho sometimes plays.
