Finally Boselli is with Estudiantes now. Hamburg is interested on Monzón to replace Sorin, but Boca doesn't in the mood to let him go.

Boselli to Estudiantes for 2.2 million (for 50%) was the dumbest sale ever

It doesn't make sense. Not just giving up an excellent prospect, but we are also helping a team that will probably be one of our main rivals for the Argentine title, and possibly challenge for the same international competitions. I don't see why we should help Estudiantes.

So, who are our forwards likely to be on the roster to start the season?

    Palermo
    Palacio (hopefully)
    Castroman ?
    Mouche
    Noir

    Anybody else?

Mouche could go away on loan. If i recall correctly Estudiantes and Boca agreed that Boca has the priority to get Boselli back, or something like that.

    Isn't Castromán more of a midfielder?

Apparently, Forlan does not hate Roman and they are friends, according to the article. Haven't people on these threads tried to spin it if Roman was hated by all his teammates at Villarreal, and that he had a beef with Forlan in particular?

Good didn't you noticed how bad that Colombiano sucked! i don't see why Boca kept this dude around all he could do was run, his ball control wasn't very good .

I'm with you on Vargas. I thought he had a very solid term in fact I thought he along with Seba were our best midfielder players.

I'm gonna hav to disagree on that , while Vargas would come off the bench in the 2nd half and make some quick runs he'd often looked lost and unbalanced .

him being better than Datolo, Cardozo, Gracian ,or Chavez???? mmmmm no

You'd think the Argentine media would be all over this story if it were true, probably bollocks.

Roman es de Boca, y de Boca no se va!

he was not better than Datolo or Battaglia, but definitely better than Cardozo, and Gracian. As for Chavez, i think when playing at home, Boca should play Datolo-Battaglia-Chavez and when they need a more defensive lineup, Vargas can step in for Chavez. Cardozo is pathetic and though I don't mind Gracian, i wouldn't be disappointed if he ends up in Greece for 3 million euros. Remember, we also need some backups as there will be a lot of games to go around (Sudamericana, Recopa, Apertura). Especially with the Sudamericana where I think Ischia will play some starters, mostly reserves and a few youth players

Riquelme Atletico Madrid target, 20 July 2008:

Hopefully you're right - I personally see nothing in this rumour too. If it were one of Italy's (Internazionale/AC Milan) or Spain's (Real Madrid/Barcelona) elite, then maybe there'd be the temptation BUT even then I doubt the pulling-power would be sufficient enough for him to willingly uproot his family again & turn his back on Boca.

While I can see Atletico making the bid, I don't see them paying what BOCA would demand nor am I 100% sure Roman would leave BsAs again so soon. I must admit that Roman with that Atletico side could be something special but I just doubt it will happen.

Re: Official Boca Juniors Transfer Threads

Riquelme barely escaped Villareal's grasp last year , with Atletico barely missing out on signing him. Despite his love for Boca and ours for him . $$$ talks and Atletico 's got plenty to keep Riquelme and Boca happy in a nice high-dollar transfer.. It was obviously NOT in Riquelme's plans to be back in Arg. so soon , had it not been for Pellegrini's hate for him he'd still be there . Vasco Aguirres success has Colchonero Directivos giving him all th back up he needs , and i don't see any reason why they couldn't pick him up eventually this summer.:(

If they shake 18-20 million at Pompillo it a done deal....

Atletico clearly need a player like Riquelme. It's been painfullty obvious the entire season when they lacked creativity in the midfield and Kun Aguero had to drop back and do it all himself. They could have had him last season but they acted like they didn't need him and of course now they want him.

Hopefully Boca's staff don't do anything stupid and sell him.

I dont think Boca would listen to anything less than 25 million dollars (possibly euros) after all they went through to get him

I doubt he'll leave, him playing together in the Champions League again with Forlan and Agüero would be great to see but I think it's too late now. Besides would Roman even want to join the club that decided against him last year?
