3 million sounds like few for Maidana, he could have a national team future. I would say that if they double that Boca should accept.

Leandro Gonzalez's transfer belongs to Colón i think, and i hear there may be interest from Greece. Oh my, the greeks have Colón as their players source.

lol 3 million euros for Maidana is incredible. A great deal IMO, he definitely does not have a national team future ahead of him IMHO

Seems like we have some contradictory opinions on his level of talent.

    What's his best position...center-back or right-back?

    center back by FAR
he is only playing right back because our starting rb is injured and we have no decent replacement so he must play rb for us. I'm not saying he's awful or anything, but 3 million euros seems about right

He is still young and could very well form the U-23 Olympic team this summer. I rate him much, much, much higher than Cahais, who went to play to Groningen.

Maidana is fast, tall enuff, has technique and is experienced at his young age. 3 million Euros is a bit on the cheap side, considering the prices paid for some Brazilian central defenders ...

Which is odd because Cahais has been an absolute hit for Groningen this season.

Maidana is on and off. He can have some monster games and then make amateur mistakes. His game lacks consistency.

Sounds like our boy Johnny Heitinga at the same age. He has time to develop.

IMO, Cahais is too slow. He has decent timing and is good in the air. But fails to recover position once the ball is past him. Of course he has room to improve, yet the "heavy" body will doubtfully be reduced and help improve his speed.

Maidana has the youngster mistake here and there. But the kid is determined, patient, excellent timing, very good in the air and has decent ball control. He will grow into a very good central defender, something that Boca didn't give him enuff games at the position ... except for Russo who rated him high enuff to have him as his central defender at the start of last year and until his injury in Cuzco.

Ibarra needs to renew his contract, which expires in 10 days ... but now Santos (Bra) has offered him around US$1 million a year (Ibarra holds his transfer)

Looks like "el negro" will be gone for this coming season ...

Ole is saying that today might be the last game for all these players:

Palacio is going to Lazio for $18 million.
    Morel is wanted by Getafe.
    Ibarra is wanted by Santos.
    Maidana is wanted by Ajax.
    Ledesma is going to Catania.
Boselli is watnedb y some club in Turkey.
    Neri says he's leaving.
    Migliore is probably leaving.
    Castroman is probably leaving.
    Gracian is probably leaving.

Re: Official Boca Juniors Transfer Threads

The highlighted are the only players I'd truly hate to see go. Palacio was just matter of time and I'm actually surprised we held onto him this long. Morel while he's been solid for us the injury thing just may be catching up to him. Same thing with Hugo. El Negro has been awesome for us and an excellent leader but he to has spent a lot of time sitting so for him to get one last big payday is good with me. I like Maidana and think this kid is going to really come into his own.

I'll be interested to see what direction we go in the transfer market and how much we splash. Most of the guys on that list either should've never been with BOCA or were ready for a change a while ago. I'm not too worried because I think the pibe's we have are a good crop of players and with some good signings could really shine.

zarate will not come to Boca

Al-Saad wants to loan him and Boca doesn't like loaning in players. They want to find a replacement now and not have to worry again in 6 months

Out of all the youngters, who is most likely to step up and play an integral part of this team? Having watched a couple of the games where a lot of them played, I must say that a couple of names really stood out to me...Noir & Mouche. Admiteddly, I don't know anything about them but they looked like good prospects.

The two players you mentioned did pretty good but the one that really stood out to me was Chavez. This kid could be special based on his performances this term.

agree with Moishe, definitely Chavez and of course Monzon.

I think that Boca must focus on the Apertura and for the Sudamericana play a mix of starters/reserves/youth players so tht they continue gaining experience

Re: Official Boca Juniors Transfer Threads

Heard some news regarding Boca and transfers.

-Apparently Ibarra would give priority to the economic aspect, chances are that he may be leaving.
-Lanús would pay U$S3,000,000 for Boselli.
-The offer from Lazio for Palacio is actually €15,000,000 but Boca won't give him away for less than 18.
-Castromán apparently would stay until December.
-Cardozo is wanted by a variety of clubs, 2 from Greece(Olympiacos and Panathinaikos), one from Turkey(Kaseriyspor, i think) and the mexican América.
-Ibañez was signed by Dinamo Zagreb.
-Boca offered U$S3,000,000 and Bertolo's transfer for Ignacio Piatti.
-Boca will sign Diego Nadaya, the 18 year old forward of Instituto, and regular U20 player.
-Boca rejected an offer of signing Santiago Cañizares...?
