the guy never plays, gets embarassed on TV, I'm not sure he has anything to get from that.
What it did though was putting pressure on Higuchi, there's already reports of a possible firing very soon ...

Marinos fielded a very very week starting lineup. Reading the stats will tell you we were still all over them. It seems like Higuchi hasn't established a system that team is capable of playing. It's chaotic.

    That's no excuse

    Did you see Consadole's line-up?

They fielded 5 players under the age of 20. Their centerback partnership was an 18 year old and a 19 year old.

Consadole played their 2nd string too. Marinos are embarrassing themselves.

edit: Not to mention it was also a Home match.

I wholeheartedly agree. We signed to beer league Brazilians and let two young players go. Aria who to my surprise is lighting it up for FCT, they must be laughing hard. They need to replace the president and Higuchi to have any chance going forward.

I was gonna say the same thing but u were quicker than me=)

Sapporo swapped 10 out of 11 compared to their league-squad ( they swapped 11 out of 11 for their first Nabisco-game), while Marinos used 4 ( or was it 5?) players from their first squad.

Marinos dominated yes, but Consadole were never gonna go all out attack here, and played their counter-attacking game exactly how coach Ishizaki wanted it ( the 2nd goal is a good example of that). IF Aoyama hadnt fell it could have been a different game though. But looking through the highlight reel, how many REALLY big chances did Marinos have? A couple of semi-dangerous headers and a a nice run from Saito, but other than that nothing that looked too threatening imho.

you mean like the Bari DF that got 40 000€ last year for an own goal in Serie A? (of course it's not like you get paid for the own goal, but for the fact that the other team scored) Again, hope that's not the case though

You'd think that he'd want to at least win a match even if its a Nabisco Cup match.

Is it really the time to be playing youngsters? I love seeing young players get opportunities (I feel that they don't get enough), but the way that Marinos are playing right now, don't you think its a better idea to get a victory and try and change the atmosphere at the club right now?

Shunsuke's carrying an achilles injury, so I'd prefer him to not play and be fit and rested for the League match on Saturday.

I see the blooding of some younger players, or giving them the chance to put up their hand for a start in the League as more important than a win, to be honest. I think part of the fix for our woes is that a regular starter or two need to be replaced for the likes of Matsumoto Sho (or Kano or Matsumoto Rei or Moriya). If they get time in the Nabisco Cup, they have a chance at staking a claim.

And because I can't see the team playing to any kind of system, I'm still undecided as to what is better for us right now: a win for team confidence or something that forces a change...

I also like this, the Nabisco cup is a waste of time for us at this point. The league needs major focus considering how poorly we've started. Although if healthy Maraquinhos should be given a run out.

Marquinos is only doing light running and strength exercises at the moment. Prob a few weeks away still, unfortunately.

Ishige, Shirosaki, Kumagai, Matsumoto, and Ono all starting in one match.

    Should be fun to watch.

If S-Pulse can keep these guys together for a few seasons (With Ito, Takagi, Omae) the rest of the league better watch out.

Hmm Kumagai, been curious to know his background, half-Brazilian?

Also, Sapporo have unearthed a gem in Sakaki.

Id love to see him start instead of Maeda in the league! Well, actually Id like to see anyone start instead of him=)

Sadly he got injured shortly after his goal today. Seems like its his achilles, so might be serious. Apparently he was even crying....

Probably because he remembered Diogo was a first teamer ahead of him last year

    Sapporo 1 shot , Kashima around 30=)

Lost it in the end, partly because of the referee Okabe. Nice job keeping the lead until the 85th minute though.

Geez, looks like we got taught a football lesson by Cerezo at home. At least Yajima scored his first pro goal.

Crazy sequence in front of the goal. Sakaki's injury really looks like a rupture of cruciate legaments.
