Seattle's next. Hope we don't get pounded like we did when we visited them during the regular season (and that was even with Omar playing...maybe not 100% tho). they are really speedy...gotta watch out for Montero, Johnson, and now Martinez. I think we definitely need to win the first leg. We have the home field advantage AND Seattle should have somewhat tired legs. It's gonna be really hard for us to comeback on the road with the crap turf and tired team that we're gonna have. Really physical game tonight...maybe a few Sounders picked up knocks?
They were on the road for the second game, but D.C. was the higher seed. The game order was switched following the storm. Still, 4 of 6 series won by the lower seed including the 4 v. 5 games.
Martinez scoring in Seattle's final win of the playoffs was strangely reminiscent of Pando's 1st of the season to win OUR last game that year.
I’m not looking past Seattle, but with D.C.’s Hamid out for a red card and no DeRo, they’ll have a hard time beating Houston in a two game series. Could we be looking at a repeat of 2011 after all?
Well, have to admit, I didn't think Seattle could pull it off. You know what this means? Time to go monkey shopping! Seattle may have finally won a playoff series, but they still haven't beaten us in the playoff, so monkey, meet back. It's your new home. Seattle new hoodoo will be beating LA in the playoffs. BTW, I predicted that we would go out in the round, but being the wishy-washy person that I am and being on this high from last game, I am gonna say that neither Seattle or RSL looked as strong as I thought they would in their matchup and think we truly did just face the best in the West. 2-1 in LA, followed up by a nail-biting 1-1 draw in Seattle.
I'm kinda glad RSL is out. They are the only team (that I've heard) who's supporters yell that juvenile "You suck, A-hole" when the goalie kicks it. Just stop it.
Not the only ones, but it's true. You'd think after "Believe" we could have stepped it up a little and gotten rid of it.
89th minute. Your team down a goal and about to be eliminated from the playoffs and you get a sweet free-kick opportunity right outside the box? You think Beckham would have stepped aside and let Roy Miller take that free kick? Like Henry did? Yeah, I thought so.... Also - New York totally got Rafa'ed again....
I haven't seen it since I watched it live, but I thought Henry was surprised when his teammate took the kick. Then when it sucked, you could see his body kind of collapse, even in the wide shot. Also-Rafa.
Najar suspended 2 additional games for hitting ref with the ball. So DC will have to face Houston with no Hamid for first game and no Najar at all... and with 1 day less rest. Man, would love a LA-Houston repeat...
Rafa, Rafa, Rafa..............Rafa, Rafa, Rafa, Rafa. I swear if I was the Red Bulls I would give him a one way ticket to Mexico and pay him not to play there next year. And if any of you guys saw his article at mlss.com he had the audacity to say he wanted to come back and prove himself and a bunch of other nonsense. Sounds exactly like he sounded at the end of the last season and I still don't believe him. And then Henry giving up that free kick at the end to Roy ********ing Miller of all people? Wow. I don't know what is happening with that team but hopefully they start to get their act together next year. They started out pretty well this year but just couldn't finish.
