We'll be undefeated when the games aren't on National TV.

Okay, the result sucked, but this game at least leaves me a lot more hopeful about how we'll do overall this year. Hopefully, Califf gets out of the doghouse soon, but I thought the starting lineup today looked pretty good otherwise.

I'm still willing to give MacMath some time. He's made mistakes, but has been decisive and appropriately aggressive much of the time. He just needs to avoid the stupid mistakes for a game or two to build his confidence. I don't think he's Seitz part two.

    5 last thoughts...........

    1). welcome back Roger Torres.

2). Danny Mwanga belongs on 2nd half milk cartons.

3). Kudos to Pajoy, looked like he picked up his stamina.

4). Only this mgr. could turn a playoff team into Chivas east in 2 games.

5). Thanks to his perpetual expansion strategy, Philly has control of the bottom of the conference table......"in their Seitz"...........

    * yes, unlucky no PK @ 00:48.

    * yes again, unlucky crossbar.

winners make/get their own luck. Losers don't.
When you have the last line of defense CONSTANTLY committing a gaffe a game your season ends before it ever begins.

    Thanks Pete.

heard Pareja didn't want to shake YOUR hand.

He was afraid the karma would rub off...........

i'm not too upset with that showing. could and should have got something out of it but for wasteful finishing, unlucky at times too though.

but, i'm worried about the macmath situation - is he ready ?! a very young age and he's under a lot of pressure now, 2 mistakes in 2 games isn't very good for any keeper at any level, surely ? i hope he comes good, i really do, because i like the lad.

as i said though, we'll win games playing like that - decent possession for the most part, made chances and soon enough we'll be taking those chances. good game anyhow.

Nothing from Mwanga again. I'd give him 2 more matches then maybe it will be time to see what Jack Mac or Hoffman can do.

Despite our inability to score on a 10-man team for 30 minutes... there were at least some positives. I was impressed with Pajoy and Mwanga also had some glimpses.

But for darn's sake, the Califf experiment failed. Bring him back and put Albright back on the bench. That's the real reason we lost today.

We won't win games scoring one goal, and making these mistakes. We can't get only a single goal for every 20-something chances.

just because Mwanga didn't score today doesn't mean anything. He had great passing, and good awareness.

Daniel should be starting every game. I love his composure on the ball.

And it seemed like we lost that and got worse controlling the ball once he was off

You can't expect to win when you are constantly rebuilding your team

no i meant, to the guy that said that we should bench him. Obviously it hurt the score line, but someone mentioned getting rid of him or benching him if he doesn't score in 2 games

That defensive play for their second goal was horrific  all he had to do was kick it 3 feet out of bounds...........Pathetic!

I'd really like to see this formation,.......every loose ball we seem to be outnumbered or not in position, our midfield needs to be more organised, we are putting alot of pressure on our backs right now.

disappointing result today, thought we had the better of the play for most of the game

    GOOD
-Daniel played a great game, on both sides of the ball
-Pajoy looks dangerous out there, it's only a matter of time for him
-Valdes was terrific, did the armband proud today
-Carroll put in another solid Carroll performance, did a good job pressuring the ball all game long
-Gomez is a monster out there, I'm putting the over/under on red cards for him this season at 8

    BAD
-Marfan played pretty poorly, he is still gunshy and trying to be too cute with the ball
-Albright...really Nowak, that's the best you can come up with, bench the captain for some useless retread journeyman
-P. Lopez didn't do anything to change anyone's perception that he pretty much stinks in all phases
-Mwanga didn't do enough for me today, didn't really see this great game he played that some of you are defending. I thought he had more of an impact last week in limited minutes

    UGLY
-Nowak, not really following his logic, 3 in the back, after last weeks poor defensive performance? Albright over Califf? Hernandez seeing the field? Sheanon in an attacking role? No Torres sub immediately after the red card? Taking off Daniel when he was arguably the best player on the field? Leaving Mwanga out there when he refuses to hustle or make any runs?

I shouldn't even try to see reason with Piotr's decisions anymore I guess... can't wait for the lineup shuffle next week, who needs continuity?

Agree with most of your post......Gomez is a beast :D But I actually thought Lopez played pretty well today.......

    Albright

I seen Torres yelling at Mwanga to stop standing there and make a run....Love Torres ;)

Overall I'm more optimistic than I was after Portland.......if Nowak gets Torres on the field and a more balanced formation we should be alright.

Oh great... something didn't seem right. The smile on his face and the effort he made to clap the fans suggests something is amiss.

I honestly don't understand the formation today. The choice of bench players was odd as well.

Just tweets, id link but im on my phone on the way home.

But...seems Nowak is saying califf was benched cause he got a cortisone shot after the Portland match...califf says basically he just showed up and found out he wasn't playing...he also said "I guess im supposed to have a knee injury" ..
