Isn't Gotoku going to be called up for U23 for Toulon at 4PM? He is still in Germany playing test matches with his team so maybe they dont want to call him for just this match.

I think he's going to the Toulon tournament, but then why are Gonda and Haraguchi in the Azerbaijan squad? Surely they are going?

Then again, I can see why Gonda may not go because he has matches with FC Tokyo, but Haraguchi isn't starting for Urawa right now so I don't see any harm in letting him go to the tournament.

So, no Gotoku Sakai and Mike Havenaar as well Konno and Endo. I thought Aria would never make it to the NT.
Can't wait to see Hasebe-Hosogai pairing-up in the midfield.

Disappointed and confused at the same time.
Miyaichi should've gone to Toulon since he never played with the team and blending is important. Inui should've been called up instead of him in the NT.
The wrong Takagi (or at least it should've been both) has been called up for the U23.
Gonda has been called up for no reason, now is he forced to make the trip?
Hiroki Sakai should've been kept with the U23 squad, that tournament is an important test and this friendly is pathetic anyway, it's more about the fitness\condition which isn't a problem for him. Same for Haraguchi.
Morimoto has been called up because there are few players that can play in that position, I know, but I still would've let someone else grab the chance.
At least I hope for a good result... :/

Both selections sound like Zac and Sekiguchi have considered clubs' wishes and, as I read, giving a few days off to some players including Inui. So I'll not read too much into it.

It's only a friendly against Azerbaijan. Not even worth discussing imo.

First I was like wtf is this shit in defence, than I was like what the f happened with some of the midfield and by the time I saw Aria I remembered this is just for this friendly not the qualifications.

P.S. Does Zac has some deal with FC Tokyo or something, calling all of their players.

Dont get the Hiroki Sakai, Genki Haraguchi and Shuichi Gonda call ups either

I was hoping Hiroki Yamada would be given a chance in a meaningless friendly. Hasegawa looks like a different player this year, only seen him in ACL but was pretty solid.

Confused why Haraguchi is there, he's been warming the bench for most of the season at Urawa, same goes for Morimoto. I feel Omae and T.Takagi are unlucky.

Shibasaki must have blown his chance against Iwata losing 3-0, there were reports that Zach's assistant was at that game to check on him.

Okay I know they didn't get along well last time they tried it............But give Hasebe-Hosogai another go I say.

Could someone tell me about Aria Hasegawa who I believe is a player Zac picked for central midfield due to his J.League form. Creative CM? Or more "Hasebe"-style CM?

I haven't watched an awful lot of Hasegawa this year, but he's been playing the role of midfield enforcer Hasebe-style. He won't become a creative CM, IMO he's technical skills aren't brilliant, his physical play was impressive when he played against more aggressive opposition in the ACL.

eh, I have the same problem. I may be forced to miss it or take off some hours from work (meh). The problem is that while I could probably find a record of a qualification match, this is a friendly, so I'm not optimistic... if someone could record it it would be simply amazing.

    I'll too have problems. I have a lesson until 12 a.m. (GMT +1) and i will come back only at 1 p.m.
A resume of the match would be good.

You think you guys have problems?

I had a ticket to see Australia v Japan in Brisbane on June 12th (yup I was going to fly up from Tasmania for a day). I recently got my uni exam timetable and one of my exams are on the 12th from 1-4pm. So no I can't go......fml.

woah, in Europe you usually have 2-3 dates to choose from for exam. If it's a written one though sometimes you can't choose indeed.

I know that but I'm not sure if they really are archived, and where.
