Sad. He seems to be really attached to his homeland. Anyway, Jogo + Davi.. that would be huge. A title-tandem?
1-Kofu 85 2-Kyoto 73 3-Shonan 72 4-Oita 70 5-YFC 70 6-Chiba 69 last round games: -Kyoto-Kofu -Machida-Shonan -YFC-Gifu -Matsumoto-Oita
19- Toyama 35 g.d.:-23 20- FC Gifu 35 -27 21- Tottori 35 -46 22- Machida 32 -30 last round: Machida-Shonan YFC-Gifu Tottori-Fukuoka Toyama-Mito If there's a logic and some rationality behind all this...Machida won't beat Shonan...
Mathematically, yes. If both Sanga and Bellmare lose their games, Trinita and/or YFC will overtake the former by goal difference. Really, no – for the very same reason.
Of course they can. Sanga can EASILY lose to Kofu, as Kofu, despite being already champions, still seem to be partly motivated atleast with the ongoing unbeaten streak etc. And Shonan, who have only won 2 out of the last 10 games, meet a Machida side who are in a MUST-WIN situation. The only teams Shonan have beaten lately is 2 other bottom-dwellers in Gainare and Kataller, so there is no reason to automatically believe that Shonan will win that easily. And Yokohama are the form team no.1 in the league at the moment, and Oita are not far behind, and both teams got on paper easier matches than both Kyoto and Shonan. Another thing is goal-difference. Kyoto's is by far the worst, and if Shonan draws they will have +20. if Oita wins by 2 goals then they will be ahead of Shonan while Yokohama have to win 4-0 to get an equal goal-difference with Shonan ( which in that case Yokohama will get 2nd cause they got a better head-to-head record). Of course, if Shonan lose, Yokohama ( or Oita) only need to win 1-0. So it's certainly no reason for Oita or Yokohama to think that the race for 2nd is over for them yet.
We'll see next week. I personally would love to see direct promotion for Oita, but won't bet a 100 yen on it.
Actually, we had over 10,000 for a game when we were in Tokai 2nd Division a few years back But, yeah, this is the first time in the J2. Alot of it boiled down to: 1. People were allowed to use invitational tickets (They weren't allowed to use them for the games at Meadow) 2. Last game of the year 3. Relegation battle 4. Good weather 5. Main stand tickets were only 1000yen Was a pleasant change. Would have been nice to at least score a goal in front of all those potential new fans
Toyama's safe. They would have to have a big loss to Mito at home, while Machida has a big win over Shonan. Not gonna happen. I'm still scared about what Machida might do. I think the safest bet in these four games is a Gifu loss to YFC.
But you are also forgetting Tottoris goal difference. If Machida wins and both Gifu and Tottori loses Tottori goes down.
I only have game-by-game data for Gifu since 2007, their JFL season. For Tokai League seasons I only have averages of 597 and 4,076 for D2 and D1, respectively. After some googling I've found this interesting collection of charts that indeed indicates a 12,600 game happened in 2006. Gotta look for more data -- maybe I could find the detailed info for 2005 and 2006 seasons. Thanks for the note!
Yeah of course. I'm just saying that Tottori has a reasonable chance of getting points against Avispa, and the odds of Machida beating Shonan are probably better than Gifu beating Yokohama FC at the mo. Still, all up to Machida isn't it. Fingers crossed.
Wow, thats quite a random collection of graphs!! If I stumble across any figures for 2005/06 I'll tell ya!
That website actually has game-by-game data for 2006 season, here it is: http://pointmile.com/fc-gifu/2006data.html
Well among the 3 clubs Machida is the club that can take the relegation best I think, they can atleast be saying to the sponsors and fans that being the newest of 40 J-League clubs makes them being the most inexperienced (which is true offcourse).
Today is the moment of truth I am thinking Kyoto but if they frack it up, they dont deserve it anyway than I really will facepalm if Bellmare doesnt capitalize on it
Machida 0-3 Shonan Shonan promoted as runner-up. Machida is bottom and must await JFL results to determine if relegation is direct or through playout. Playoff will be contested by Kyoto, Oita, Yokohama FC and JEF Chiba.
