Whatever. Gamba is an offensive team which doesn't mean they have got good players there. Going by the definition they're good until they score more than concede. They're just keeping it dangerous all the time (probably to entertain supporters).

If a team from the top concedes not much number of goals the team is praised for good defensive effort. When the team from the bootom of the table concedes a small number they're defensive minded (yeah, Sapporo shows the way how that should be done) with at best medicore defense.

    How's that?

    That's actually my point.

And no, their defense is not mediocre, probably even good but not as good as the numbers are suggesting because that's the result of the whole team's mindset, their willingness to keep it safe all the time. If you never open it up you're never going to win enough games to stay up because everyody will have you figured it out. And why throwing Sapporo in the mix ? They're just mediocre everywhere, in terms of numbers and actual football.

Erm, many of the goals I've seen Gamba concede aren't because they are 'playing it dangerous to entertain the fans'. That's making an excuse if ever I heard it. There is a lack of defensive accountability and they are fragile in high-pressure situations. And I'm not just referring to screw-ups on Fujigaya's part either.

Sanfrecce new J1 champions. Congrats especially to Sato and Moriyasu.. but Vegalta deserved it more and they threw it away in their last two matches. You can't lose against an almost-relegated Albirex in your stadium..

    What's more curious than that?
Sagan in 3rd (Toyoda.. well Zac, think about him) and Gamba killed itself with a draw against Tokyo.

First of all: Congratulations to Hiroshima. They are worthy champions!

    Second: F#%')'&%$$&''(((''&%$#""!#$%&'(()))kkkkkKKKK!!!!!!!

Damn, what a game though, Sendai vs Niigata. If Sendai had been luckier they could have won 5-0. If Niigata had been more competant they could have won 5-0.
It was great to see both teams create a sh%t load of chances, and the fans were in full voice too.

    Now for the reality check:
Sendai wasted a great chance to win the J1 over the last few weeks. 2nd is a great achievement in itself, but entering the ACL is a burden for any team trying to win the J1, so effectively Sendai will have to wait another 2 years for a chance at winning the J1.
Of course if Sendai had become the champions no one would care but...

ah well... at least I saved myself a trip to Ajista...

Vegalta deserved it more...why,where and when?

It was a great duel,Vegalta did almost a perfect season but Sanfrecce was better.
    Congrats Hiroshima!
And congrats to Sagan Tosu who also did a marvellous season.

Vegalta was more regular than Sanfrecce, plus i like their way of playing, plus Sanfrecce was a schizophrenic team. They win against Vegalta, Nagoya and Sagan, then they make 2 points in three matches.

Plus, i don't see how thinking that Vegalta was better than Sanfrecce was a big mistake.

Though schizophrenic Sanfrecce never failed in the key-matches. They played an entertaining football and improved a lot in their defensive stability since the past seasons. They had the best goalscorer ,and some of the best performer of the season like Aoyama,Moriwaki,Kazu Morisaki,Mizumoto, they scored more goals and conceded less than Vegalta, they won more matches than Vegalta...

You can for sure prefer Vegalta and think that they deserved it more, but if you argumentate a bit your point of view, like you did,it sounds better...

I like Marquinhos' new haircut. Over the season I've come to like him more and more actually. Seems like a nicer guy than his reputation might suggest!

I think Sanfrecce has more stars than Vegalta. The only two top-players in Sendai are - IMHO - Hayashi and Ryang Yong-Gi. Sanfrecce has more top-players than Vegalta: first Hisato Sato, who isn't simply a top-player, he's a living legend. Then Morisaki (who is really underrated), Takahagi (why isn't he in Europe? He's great.), Mizumoto (Zac called him several times), Nishikawa.
So the group made the difference for Vegalta. And i find it really good, it's fantastic that sometimes is the group (and not the single player) to make the gap between a good result and a failure.
Look Nagoya: top-player, but no group this year and they failed this season. Yet, because they're strong, they can still make it for ACL-spot, even if Sagan deserves it a lot more than them.

In the midtime, Saito finally scored. Against Consadole.. but still two goals.

Omiya wins 2-0 against Jùbilo.. i can't understand how they manage every season to save themselves. I really don't get it.

I don't know why i'm still watching this Reysol-Vissel thing hoping for a goal of the SunKings...
Vissel won't concede even if reduced to 7 men...even if Reysol would deploy tanks...
    That door is locked!
