The epitome of a freeloader. Good luck in whatever venture you head off to, ChrisWily. Nice knowing you.
Me neither. He was going to be making over 200k for us. Think we could find something a little better in South America. Which reminds me, I wonder if we have scouts in South America relaying players to us? We need to start getting younger players that we can develop into stars and either sell them to Europe or keep them and allow them to become the next big thing here. The only thing that is stopping us is the freaking transfer fee as part of the cap hit.
Looks like we’re also signing Youth Team member Oscar Sorto (D) Chris Klein is doing some amazing work with our youth program.
Well that is unfortunate. Kaka in my opinion is still a really good player and would destroy the MLS. We should put our attention to Lampard now. Becks can probably help with that
The article was from Goal. That's almost as creditable source as your barber's friend's friend. Not saying Kaka will happen and maybe Liewicki (sic) was just getting some PR spin going but I trust Wahl's interview that they are in for Kaka and not pursuing Lamps more than what Goal.com has to say. Leiweke did mention the club was willing to wait to get the right player so there definitely may be some timing issues since Ricky wants WC14.
Yeah that goal.com stuff if weird. ESPN and MLSsoccer have quotes from KAKA that are a little different. KAKA: "I will go if I have an agreement with the club.” http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/12/05/kick-kaka-scores-champions-league-talks-la-rumors that doesn't sound to me like he's laughing off a move to LA. that actually sounds pretty positive to me.
Just to follow up on Beirut's post: Kaka Open to Real Madrid Exit Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has admitted he could be open to leaving the club, with a January window move to LA Galaxy not out of the question.
Thanks for the articles on Kaka guys. Everyone yesterday made it sound like he scoffed at the chance to play for us. Glad it is not true.
More fuel for the fire: A retweet from Scott French -- @thegoalkeeper: Here it is: RT @TheMilanGuy: BREAKING: @MLS confirms that Kaka has just said YES to joining the Los Angeles Galaxy. Taking this with a grain of salt but where there's smoke there's fire. Sorry for all the cliches! Edit: turns out the source is from a "misleading MLS article."
This has no foundation whatsoever and is just a fantasy, but boy Diego Forlan would be a great pickup if he was willing to come in the next year or so before he has too many miles on him. Would be a great Donovan replacement to play up top with Keano.
I actually watch Italian and Brazilian football. Forlan was toilet for Inter and he hasn't been that good for the other Inter since moving to Brazil. Not to say he wouldn't do good in the MLS, maybe we would suit him. The past couple years though he's looked a shadow of what he used to be. If we're going for a striker from Brazil we should try to scupper Fabiano to DC United. He's been one of the best strikers since going back to Brazil. Fabiano and Keane up top with Kaka in the hole would be incredible. We have a working relationship with his club which might help. I find it hard to believe DC United could get that deal done or even come up with the money but if they can that's a major coup. He'd be the best striker in the league.
I was thinking about the possibility of Donovan actually calling it quits, how could we replace him... the partnership with him and Robbie. I know this name just got inked to a new deal, but suppose we were able to reunite Keane and Defoe... pretty delicious
Last year I would have said maybe, right now though I'm not sure. One thing is clear AVB loves him some Defoe. Defoe would be good in the MLS though, he'd take a billion shots but he'd score a lot of goals. I actually thought reuniting the real partnership would have been more entertaining, Keane/Berbatov but I doubt he leaves Fulham now. ......Also I fear for the women of Los Angeles if Defoe is signed.
You heard it here folks, jmaestro practically just confirmed that Forlan will be in a Galaxy kit come January
If this actually happens, I can go back and delete the first few words of my post so it looks like I predicted it, right?
My only quibble over Forlan is that his form fluctuates and if he wasn't doing well in Brazil, he may have lost it. Also, I watched him for United and while he actually did hit a long-forgotten, brief run of form after taking an eternity to score his first goal (which was then broken by injury, after which he hardly got back in the team), he still..... well.... took an eternity to score his first goal. Not sure if the physical MLS style would suit him, based on that.
In other news, we are trying to bring Juninho back for 2013. Thank god, and please get this done. He and Sarvas will be our midfield next year.
Yup..... Actually you can argue he started to decline at Atletico Madrid. He wasn't that good that last season.
