One more for the Strikers in the form of CB Rafael Alves. https://twitter.com/FTLStrikers/status/360848428214919169
Taking players on loan does not make you a farm team; taking development talent that have been assigned to you does. In the first case, the lower-tier club is making a deal for players they believe will improve their roster; in the second, the lower-tier club is accepting the players they are obliged to accept regardless of their on-field needs. Not the same, even at a stretch.
For a minute I thought it was this guy after a quick google search... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Alves_dos_Santos He is 28 as well, a central defender, same name almost, and Brazilian. Almost a perfect match.
Same. I actually had to read an article from the Sun Sentinal that said that he came from some PDL club to get me to realize my mistake. God... that would have been exiting.
Bryan Jordan leaves San Antonio to try the lower leagues in Germany. https://twitter.com/SAScorpions/status/362285231539101696
Eddie Ababio goes from Carolina to CD Aquila of El Salvador. https://twitter.com/CDAguila_ES/status/362636985791287296
Certainly seems like staying in San Antonio would have been the better option at this point, but maybe he's up for some new life experiences.
Well from the looks of it he seems like just a normal sub for San Antonio so perhaps he is seeking more playing time now abroad. If so, good move.
FCE made a couple small additions signing Univ of BC star mf Gagandeep Dosanjh and also inking striker Anthony Adur. http://www.fcedmonton.com/news/Eddies-Add-to-the-Roster
Interesting trade: Etienne Barbara to Tampa Bay, Mike Ambersley to Minnesota. https://twitter.com/RowdiesSoccer/status/363030160963952640
If I'm not mistaken, Ambersley never was 100% fit in the spring. Minnesota could make out like bandits if he's at his best in the fall.
Ambersley was quickly regaining match fitness and was looking sharp, but he wasn't fitting into the system with Hristov. I'm assuming that's why we traded. We needed a healthy, bigger target forward type with proven goal scoring ability. Walker has not impressed this season yet, and Cort can't get fit enough to play more than a quarter hour here and there. If Ambersley keeps improving, Minnesota definitely got a great deal. If Barbara's woes can be addressed by this move, then we'll not come out of it too badly either.

Strikers release Jahbari Willis, Rubens, Mike Dietze and Eduardo Jimenez. https://twitter.com/FTLStrikers/status/363311217730785284
I'm looking forward to seeing what he has to offer after making the team in a tight window between offseason ending and season beginning here in ES.
