Personally I think quags is the next best option to Giovinco but he won't play we all know he'll be 5th choice forward this season. I know it was a while ago and its totally different circumstances but Giovinco looked promising coming off the bench last time vs Chelsea. Maybe the midget has some inner motivation.
Hey, Didier, what do you think Chelsea's performance will be against Juventus in the Champions League?
Well what I can remember is Chelsea had countless chances to score but didn't. They had a legit shot at winning the game by pounding at least one of their chances thru. As badly as that game was officiated I really enjoyed that game as unfair as it was. Just realized this Chelsea/Juve match will be the first Juventus match on Canadian TV (provided you don't have RAI). To think last season I watched virtually every game on TV and sometimes to boot I had two Serie A games going.
http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsle.../match=2009489/prematch/background/index.html • Juventus have not won on their last 11 competitive outings in England, losing eight and drawing three, including their 2003 UEFA Champions League final penalty shoot-out defeat by AC Milan. • Juve have triumphed just twice in 19 contests away to English opposition: 2-1 against Aston Villa FC in the 1982/83 European Champion Clubs' Cup quarter-finals and 1-0 at Manchester United FC in the 1996/97 group stage.
Yeah I didnt want to rain on everybodies parade but I wanted people to know what we are up against so if we lose they wont get depressed.
With this bunch, not going to help much. I finally got a chance to see part of Sunday's match, most of the first half, last night. If I went with the comments that I read here, one would think that we were terrible. We were not. We have a big group of whiners around this place who expect the team to play in the same fashion as when they move their joy stick on play station. Playing away is always tough in this competition. Pulling a point would be big. Getting all three even bigger.
You sure you were watching Juve v Genoa? because the team was horrible in the first half. Genoa controlled the match.
Yes, the same match. I'll make comments on the match thread. I have little over 5 minutes of the first half and the second half to watch. It was no where near as horrible as some of you made it look.
BTW, Genoa played a very direct and fast style in that first half that did not allow us to get into our rhythm. They sent many long balls to their strikers. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea does the same.
They went over the top, catching our defenders running backwards. Torres and Hazard will do the same.
I have yet to see the second half, so I don't know what adjustments were made to stop that tactic. I would think we would be prepared for tomorrow if DiMatteo attempts the same tactics.
