Nara is not a common last name, but it is a Japanese name. There is a famous city in Japan called Nara and a prefecture named Nara. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nara,_Nara I've been there a couple of times and its mostly a tourist attraction because there are alot of temples and old buildings.

I expect a though match against UAE, we should beat Iran
Oh that game against Thespa? So somebody recorded it? I had read reports saying it was a game to forget and Yoshida said it's good that there's still time before the real competition
They beat Japan Soccer College 5-0 last week, an improvement but Yoshida reckons there's room for huge improvement. He hasn't decided on a CB parternship (Alongside Endo), interesting to see whether Iwanami or Nara make the starting line-up.
I'm not sure but I think he had a serious injury at the start of the season which set him back a bit? And plus Endo and Iwanami have J experience, amazing to think that Endo's already played over 50+ games as a teenager.
Anyone else wasting time watching the game against Iran? An early goal for Iran and you've got everything you wanted: - swift, fast, liquid and lovely ball rotation between Japanese defenders 30 meters from their own goal - two barely standing, exhausted and dandy forwards - I haven't seen any midfield so I don't know what to write - as a bonus additional funny grassrolling Iranians from time to time Nonetheless, here's the starting formation Code: ⑨久保裕也 ⑪渡大生 ⑧野津田岳人 ⑩大島僚太 ⑦熊谷アンドリュー ⑯松本昌也 ⑥山中亮輔 ②松原健 ③遠藤航 ④奈良竜樹 ①櫛引政敏
best to lose now than later, hopefully a good wake up call with maybe a rematch with Iran in sight, just to shut their obnoxious and delusional fans up.
There were tons of wandering in slow tempo around the pitch, no willingness to play this game and countless empty stares sayin 'what I'm doing here?' throught the game. I can't see a place for improvement. Iranians weren't good, the Japanese side was bad. After some changes (especially after Yajima was thrown in) they looked better as all the Iranians could do was shots from the middle and that action which led to the goal (which is reasonable as they defended after scoring the second goal). Judging from this game advancing from the group looked like maximum they could achieve.
I see plenty of room for improvement based on the difference between the sheer quality of the squad and the bad display against Iran. It only takes a few changes, a sense of urgency and a goal to shake things up, I'm not pessimistic. That doesn't mean they'll win the next game but they can definitely make a run. A lot lies in Yoshida's hands, whether he'll have the courage to partner Iwanami and Ueda again at the expense of Endo, or bench some of the biggest talents who are not hungry enough.
Hehe fair enough. I like the Japanese fans. I think they are among the most humble people around here, even when their team is currently and arguably the best side in Asia. I hope both Japan and Iran progress far enough for a rematch later on
I'm confident beating Japan at senior level, too. We already beat the Koreans with 10 men and let them know their place. It's your turn next.
You also lost to Lebanon, and by the looks of it haven't had an impressive result against anyone decent other than Korea since.........well I can't even find anything other than a fluke away win against Uzbekistan.
Confident that these guys will bounce back, can't get much worse than the Iran game...they looked more interested in having a nice holiday in the Middle East. The form of the strikers is probly the biggest concern, Watari hasn't scored since the first few rounds of J2 and Kubo is in a real slump. I guess there weren't too many alternatives though.
yes, make sure to qualify for the WC (possibly by beating Lebanon) before that, thanks in topic: I'm afraid I have low expectations
Then watching them playing would make expectations into reality The news before the cup weren't optimistic and also the performance wasn't good at all. It seems like the so called starters (some J League players who's got some games under their belts) are weaker than reserve players. Time for Yoshida to start changing and shine as the actual display so far can't be any worse. Yajima really made things work in the offensive half after he changed Watari and second half wasn't that bad. So... there's still hope! Unfortunately it's all or nothing against Kuwait.
