Early days but seems like Asano had a great tournament, I've seen his name pop up a few times on the Sanfrecce bench and I remember he was one of the stars at the high school championships. He and Notsuda could form a deadly combination if they stay together.

Usami is on his way to trash the world. The only thing wasted will be defenders on his path to glory

Are you serious? You meant he will be promoted with Gamba to J.League and then try again the Europe journey?

I think he will go back to Europe yes. But even if not. That will not change the fact that he is a fantastic player and he will only get better

I think that Usami should have patience, a few years in JLeague with Gamba and after he can travel to Europe other time! Is only 21!

Japan U19 defeats Rome U19 and qualifies in the Nutifood Cup 2014.
Japan lost to Tottenham 2-1 and beat Vietnam 7-0, but they get through thanks to goal difference.
Weirdly enough, Rome beat Vietnam only 2-1 but they also beat Tottenham. Tottenham beat Vietnam 3-2

Line up: Takagiwa; Hirose, Uchida, Mochizuki, Miura; Oyama, Uchiyama, Sekine, Morooka (15′ st Kitagawa); Minamino, Takagi (38′st Tamura)

    Asian Cup U19 2014 :

Though group. We draw against China during the qualifiers (even if it was the last match, and a simple draw permitted us to win the group) so we have to beware.

South Korea is probalby the strongest opponent with two major players as Hwang Hee-Chan and Seo Myung-Won. I prefer facing with them in the group stage (and maybe a revenge in final ? :D)

Vietnam destroyed Australia 5-1 during the qualifiers but we beaten them 0-7 in january...

I suppose that the presence/absence of Minamino will change a lot of things for us. If he goes to Brazil this summer, I wonder if it's a good idea to bring him at Asian Cup U19. He would play overmuch (moreover, there is the senior asian cup few months after).

Anyway, my only hope is to reach these ********ing semi finals, in order to qualify to U20 WC. No matter what team we face with in quarter finals.

Our last participation at U20 WC was in 2007, it's been too long now.

Hope that J3 will be benefical for some of our players.

I don't think he will go to the WC, it's too young.

Anyway, when the U17 play again? Because I want to see again that brilliant tiki-taka. It's so beautiful that game.

Good. I prefer south korea in the group than in the next round. Even if it means we could pass as 2nd, makes no difference. Group ain't easy anyway and our U20s tend to suck in these tournaments, so we'll see.

    lol nah it's in October...

1- This time is over now :D I have to say that I'm unable to understand why our U20 teams are so weak compared to our U17 since few years. Yoshitake should coach all our young teams.

2- I mean : imagine if Minamino goes to Brazil, then plays Asian Cup U19 in october (ok, anyway, in october, he would play in J-League, at professional level, which is more tiring), then the senior Asian Cup in Australia in january 2015, just after the end of the J-League ? He would be played out.
Of course, even if I consider this, I think Zac will prefer older players than Saito or others. But Minamino may deserve to go to Brazil.

So far there is yet to be seen proof that it's over: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_AFC_U-22_Championship :D

I didn't mean that they suck because there is no pool selection, quite the contrary... not all the best players were there, I know, but still :/ .

Also if you check the previous tournament since 2007 I think Japan got out a couple of times before the semifinals because of South Korea lol, so it may be better this way

There is no best squad possible at youth level and it's the SBS Cup, not the World Cup.
